What messages were successfully communicated in protest today?
The talk has mostly been about the numbers, which is what these protests always seem to boil down to, and that's IMO falling into the slant the media sets.

I thought the message sent with the chant to the cops was great, and communicated something very productive.

What other communications did you observe that you felt accomplished the goals of the protest?

To NYers? To "middle America'? To the tv audiences?

Give us a wider sense of the scope of the day.

Thanks!

Kanary

3. many messsages sent, main one is ...
there's an incredible amount of dissent and disgust at the direction we're headed with this administration ... and it's a view shared by a wide cross-section of Americans. I think that's the gist of what came out of this, and it's the right message.

5. What chant to the cops?
I still don't have much in the way of TV reception because I live in hurricane Charley's path, and everything is a wreck. :-(

7. The main message is that people are not afraid.
No afraid to go out into the streets, show their faces, join with LARGE numbers of others in confined city spaces.

Not afraid to DISSENT.

Not afraid of the government, not afraid of each other.

It's a breath of fresh air against the stench of fear that Bushco has been trying to spread throughout the land.

9. I marched
with the hope that undecided voters out there would see how divided * has made the country and that maybe we would do better with a new Pres.
If some out there are uneasy about * and see that so many feel the same way, it may fortify their unease with *.

10. For me....
and a watched a little of it. My parents were over. I think it was pretty clear that the polls are lying. Bush is not even close and if the truth be told, there is a landslide coming. That is if it isn't diebolded.

11. The message
Millions of everyday Americans do not and will not accept the Bush junta as wise, benevolent or legitimate.

We are wise to their lies.

12. the # 1 message
I got, watching on CSpan, is that we don't want GWB or his policies, we don't support them, and we intend his eviction in November. It didn't really matter which group, or which issue; there are so many. George can't get anything right; but is there even one issue he doesn't use to damage people?

The #2 message, that we are sick of corporate/political control of our media.
