Denver sizzled. St. Paul fizzled.
It ain't over til it's over but for all express purposes, it's over.

Dullest damn night of politics in recent memory with no promise of improvement the rest of the week.

4. That's the thng. With or without Palin even party insiders know McCain's a joke.

Way before her name was even uttered various repugs were saying they couldn't attend. Do you think this would've happened if Ronnie were running?

5. Thom Hartmann was right. It really is like a funeral.
I tuned in just as Thompson was talking about McCain, and I thought McCain had died overnight, the way he was talking. Turned out it was just McCain's campaign that had died.

7. It might be fun to mount a massive mail-in request order for a CD by
Hookers & Blow, one of the featured bands the Republicans hired for this gig.

Odd choice for a party of "family values."

13. The band name was a hoot...but even funnier
was Jon Stewart's video of repugs partying the night away whilst trying to 'help' the victims of the latest hurricane. It was classic irony.

15. LOL! Yes. We have to have John Stewart. I'm not sure some of us could
have made it through these Bush-era years without him.

11. There are probably running percentages with nightly breakdowns.
Not sure who would cover those, though.

12. What would be the nail in the casket are the rating numbers.
The GOP can use the Gustav coverage as an excuse all they want but there's just not as much interest in the GOP beyond the Palinites who are excited over her vagina and her guns. Seriously, all of the interesting things at the RNC this year are things that are happening AROUND it like the police abuse towards protesters, the Ron Paul convention (which from the looks of it is actually BETTER attended) and the Palin gossip. Hence, the focus of the current MSM coverage.

The RNC had even MORE time than the DNC because they didn't have the fucking long grueling primary, which John McCain took as time to fucking nap instead of doing what he should have been doing and that is to vet his fucking Barbie Doll VP. All of this is karma because they wouldn't have had to scrap all their plans for the RNC that took over 2 years to plan if it hadn't been for the absolutely fuckitude of their handling of Katrina and they wouldn't be dealing with all this shit if they actually fucking GOVERNED instead of campaigning all the time.

17. I'd love to see a breakdown of the households (by ethnicity) that viewed Obama's speech.
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 11:09 PM by Tarheel_Dem
It was all we could talk about at work the next day. TV One (black network) carried the entire convention last week, and this week they're back to regular programming, with barely a mention in the newsbreaks about the RNC. LOL.

p.s.: this was supposed to be in response to post #16. I'm sleepy.
