chicago sun times and 'Plot thickens after checking records'
http://www.suntimes.com/output/elect/cst-nws-lips27.html

'What could that more than 100 pages contain? Questions have been raised about President Bush's drill attendance in the reserves, but Bush received his honorable discharge on schedule. Kerry, who should have been discharged from the Navy about the same time -- July 1, 1972 -- wasn't given the discharge he has on his campaign Web site until July 13, 1978. What delayed the discharge for six years? This raises serious questions about Kerry's performance while in the reserves that are far more potentially damaging than those raised against Bush.'

is anyone else sick of hearing about this crap?

far more potentially damaging than those raised against Bush

who are they kidding?

1. Better Get Used to It - More Coming Every Day Until Nov 2nd
Do you really think they will run out of lies to tell?

Is there any hope that the media will get tired of repeating them?

7. Well, then.
There you are. Any paper that keeps that treasonous prick on its staff would have to crawl miles out of the gutter to reach the status of The National Enquirer.

I fully expect to see headlines like "KERRY FATHERS HALF-ALIEN BABY."

9. Consider the source--Lipscomb writes for the American Spectator
It's an opinion column, not news from the Sun-Times

13. Why is the NY Sun's GOP ass kissing Thomas Lipscomb not an op-ed?
He has been defending Bush (and the GOP in the prior job of head of Time Books) for over a year, once a month calling Kerry a child killer, war criminal, attendee at a meeting plotting to kill pro-war folks, at meetings sponsored by Jane Fonda -

Would the Sun Times treat a NewsMax article as if it was credible?

So why is this liar (sorry - in the Hitler partial truth tradition of saying that the Polish leaders were not all good - a truth - - and that while they had not been planning to invade Germany as he had claimed, looking back he would do it again because of the good that had come from the invasion by replacing them, the GOP now uses partial truth - - - so the media will not say Bush - or Lipscomb - is a liar - and they choke when asked to note that everything is a lie by implication with a veneer of partial truth - indeed they act just like German media in the 30's) being given space in the SunTimes?

15. Speaking as a non-partisan for just ONE moment
i believe the public and the press are way done with this topic. The story has run it's course. Kerry should be innoculated from future charges, which will be viewed as more of the same old, same old. Barring big bombshells (pun intended), any damage that would be done, has been done. The way its been framed by Kerry, however, may produce image probs for chimp-boy as he could be seen as doing nothing but smear and distract. Of course, we'll get RW wackball nutcases who seek to perpetuate the lie-game. Eff 'em.

19. agreed.
My point was that whatever damage Kerry would suffer from these sorts of accusations has been realized. The backlash, brushback, blowback, whateverthehellyouwanttocallit may continue or get more intense. I'm with you 100%.

Your article by Thomas Lipscomb claims, without support, contradiction or further examination, that Kerry somehow faked his Silver Star through paperwork.

How then, do you explain the photo where Kerry is wearing the Silver Star at An Thoi--where he received it--in Vietnam?

FACTS: Kerry was awarded the Silver Star at An Thoi in Vietnam shortly after an action that took place on February 28, 1969. The decision to award Kerry the Silver Star was made by Admiral Zumwalt, who at first had put him up for the Navy Cross, but decided that award would take too long to clear with the Navy bureaucracy.

There are a number of witnesses to the medal ceremony in which Zumwalt pinned Kerry with the Silver Star, including Commander Charles Horne, who later said, "We were trying to pay tribute to Kerry and the others for going above and beyond the call of duty. The Silver Star is always a big deal," and Commander George Elliot. Tommy Belodeau (deceased) and Mike Madeiros were given Bronze Stars, and Del Sandusky, Fred Short and Gene Thorson were given Navy Commendation Medals with Combat V in the same ceremony at An Thoi.

For your information, this is the Silver Star:

This is a photo of Kerry and his crew after the medal ceremony. Kerry wears the star on his uniform, the medal on the right.

You really should have run that "story" as an opinion piece. Or does your paper consider slander to be newsworthy?
