OMFG! Kerry/Edwards yard sign in West Bocton Alabama!
I was going to the IGA in our town; ran into my cousin-in-law. We were talking outside of the store when she said to me--"Look over there! Do you believe that that shit!" I looked over and, sure enough, there it was. I looked at her and said how wonderful I thought it was and how I'm totally Kerry/Edwards. She looked like I slapped her face. heheh. She said, "I had no idea you were a Democrat!!!" like she was saying I had no idea you were an ax murderer. I had to rub it in, so I said "Hell, yes, honey. I even voted for McGovern!!" (I can be a bitch sometimes).

Anyway, for all you naysayers out there, if I can find a K/E yard sign in West Blocton Alabama, heart--HEART I say--of the Bible belt, this election's gonna be won.

4. You've never heard of Blocton?
Gateway to Centreville? You sure? lol

That's why the sign is so meaningful. I'm tellin' ya, Blocton is the most redneck, reactionery, repuke place on earth. It is my home, and I love the country, but some of these people are out of their minds. Hell, they even have snake churches down here, which gives a really bad name the to good folks that live here.

3. Awsome, I tell people why I like Kerry and that it has nothing to do with.
hating Bu$h. I tell them his Senate record was about beating corruption like Iran Contra, like BCCI and like The S&L scandal. Today, I asked a not so Kerry vet if liked the idea that He could go and vistit Nam today, And he then told me for the next half hour about beautiful that country is. I asked him what Senator was most responsible for normalizing relations with Nam. He didn't know. When I told him it was Kerry. His whole attitude changed on the 1971 testimony thing, admitting that it was 35 years ago and that, yes he knows Kerry did good things for vets over the years.

6. And the most recent Rasmussen poll...
Has Bush's lead in Alabama down to only 11 points (53-42). Granted that doesn't mean Bama is in play or that Kerry will be making campaign stops there soon, but it is somewhat encouraging.

7. Bama's not in play, but
this time around, you'd be surprised how many people don't like him down here. But they'll vote for him anyway--go figure. Or maybe they'll stay at home. That would be sweet.

8. Ok, here's a story
Two weeks ago, we took off on a 2-week minivan vacation, driving through Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas (mostly getting through Dallas), Louisiana, Missippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky. We saw a total of 5 Bush/Cheney stickers which was amazing because we thought we would see scores of them. We saw 4 Kerry stickers. One on a Missouri truck and 3 in Huntsville, Alabama.

It was encouraging, very much so.

9. Huntsville is the liberal part of AL
It also has the highest median income. That's where all the space technology industries are; although 3 K/E stickers is great. Huntsville is liberal, but liberal in Alabama terms. In other words, moderate to right leaning.
