Here's the rejoinder when someone compares Barack to Palin.
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 06:10 PM by Bicoastal
"Barack Obama may not have a resume like John McCain, but he EARNED his party's respect by taking on Hillary and Bill Clinton, two of the biggest names in the Democratic party, as well as the most ambitious; he fought them to a standstill and eventually won by staying on message and rarely going negative. He won their respect and support, and won ours as well. He's ready to lead this country."

"Sarah Palin, on the other hand, having been hand-picked by the Republican party due to her gender and fundamentalist Christianity, cannot make that claim--and she's one 73-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency..."

1. I prefer to talk about experience vs qualifications
Obama may not have a lot of experience, but he is qualified (great education, good judgement and natural leadership ability).

Palin does not have any experience and doesn't have any qualifications.

3. Obama Ran Nationwide Campaign Built On Grassroots Support...
To beat a highly favored candidate in Hillary Clinton. He also raised enough funds from small donations to take on the Republican machine, and become the first African American presidential candidate. Neither Hillary nor Obama were handed their respective positions. They earned them. Palin was given her VP slot through an 11th hour epiphany from John McCain.

They do not compare.

2. Dan Quayle in a skirt.
Sarah would be McCain's insurance policy.
