McCain has decided to fight the campaign on the change meme
rather than experience. It finally got through to them that they were having no more success with the attacks on Barack than Hillary did. This ticket could present some difficulties to us. McCain knows that his single biggest weakness is W, so he chooses someone who has credentials as a maverick to complement his bogus image. The pick has the added bonus of being an appeal, transparent though it is, to the most important demographic of undecideds.
We will need to be careful in how we deal with Palin and have to avoid being condescending or dismissive. I believe that it is more important than ever to attack McCain's maverick image and absolutely tie the anchor that is Bush tightly around that wrinkled old neck of his.

1. I agree, but is it a problem?
Now both tickets are revealed, it's clearly no longer change vs. experience, it's change vs. change.

Obama OWNS that message. His campaign has got to be pretty pleased that McCain is desperately trying to encroach on their theme.

6. I agree that the change argument is one we should win,
but to do so we have to handcuff McCain to W. Sadly, the corporate media has been more than willing to give him cover on his supposed independent ways. Similarly, there are elements of Patin's bio that can be used to paint her a a non-W Republican. This is now the challenge for Obama. I have no doubt that he is up to it but we should not be dismissive of the GOP move. It has changed the dynamic of the race. We need to adapt quickly to the new reality.

2. What? She's not change. Her husband works for BP... she's big oil. AND she just outsourced
a huge pipeline contract to a CANADIAN company. She's more of the same.

4. Good manners
Really, it is not that hard to shred the positions of the unqualified and remain courteous.

I genuinely don't get McCain's choice.
