They are going to push this shit down our throats that because she didnt abort her child when the possibility of Down Syndrome came up, that she is some kind of hero?

How many other parents who have not aborted their kids are going to put up with this insult?

1. She made a choice. I respect that choice, but it was her choice, not the government's choice

3. I made the same choice, and was damn glad to HAVE a choice.
Hero, my ass. If she wants to be a hero to the disabled community, she'll have to stop being Republican.

4. Well, I didn't have an abortion when I was pregnant with my
now-teenage son despite being pushed to do so by some family and friends due to my circumstances at the time. But that sure as HELL doesn't qualify me to be veep or president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. I Am Glad For Her
I wish every woman in this country felt she had the means and support network to keep a child with special needs. Sadly, our healthcare system and social structure mean most people are pretty much on their own.

8. God/The Universe forced me to have two spontaneous abortions, so am I a hero?
:sarcasm:

DON'T get me wrong, I do think that people who have Down kids sometimes have a tough (and wonderful) job. I am in no way casting aspersions there. I've had the joyful opportunity to work with some in a classroom setting.

However, I still say it is no one's choice but the woman's as to whether or not to be pregnant.
