I extend my best wishes to all DUers heading to NYC next week
I wish you all well during your entire stay in New York City. Express yourselves and don't be intimidated by those who would use Soviet style tactics to stifle dissent. I will ONLY be watching the Convention coverage as it concerns the protestors. I could care less what these neo-fascists have to say inside of Madison Square Garden.

I only wish I could be there too, but I have classes to teach and a professional Convention of my own to attend in Chicago.

1. I'd like to add my virtual hugs and
appreciation for going to the front lines for those who cannot make it.

I hope it is the most peaceful and powerful demonstration on the history of this Planet!:grouphug:

Thanks, bluestate, for starting this thread..B-)

3. Three Cheers for Democrats in New York
If you live there, your city is being used. Thank you for your forbearance.

If you are protesting, whether resident or visitor, then best wishes and be safe.

4. Want To Help? Stay Home
Any demonstrations that are either violent or even asthetically "weird" are going to help Bush. The opposition would be truly useful if it stayed home.

6. So? The obvious conclusion is DON'T stay home, protest peacefully.
The wierdos are going, come hell or high water. If you feel the way you do, then wear a white shirt and tie or blouse as appropriate and protest quietly and peacefully.

Numbers count. Thanks to those who show up.

Staying at home makes no point.

7. I really hope that reply was not directed at me
I have marched in the street at least half a dozen times, and never once participated in a violent or disorderly demonstration.

8. A gathering of liberals is always 'weird'...
...and so what? Doing nothing will only help Bush, too. Anyway, who gives a fuck what the phoney plastic people are going to think?

To all the demonstrators I say, give 'em hell and keep yourself safe from the facist brownshirt CS gas spraying thugs.
