AM McClown Veep Speculation
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 04:59 AM by DarthDem
Huckster says it's not him. Romney will be in Dayton, says Ambinder, and will be the nominee. Pawlenty is supposedly at the governor's mansion in St. Paul - - which means nothing since he could fly down there in about an hour and a half. And a group of Sarah Palin cutlists claim that the fact that a private jet traveled from Anchorage to an airport near Dayton yesterday means she's the pick.

My guess: it's probably Romney, but the Palin speculation is interesting. There's no evidence she was on that plane, or she might even be going to the, uh, "rally" as some sort of "look at all the stars we have on our bench" (snort) sort of thing, with someone else being named. If she's the choice, it's really a hail mary aimed at women. However, she is under a huge ethics cloud in Alaska over Troopergate - - and has close to zero experience; she's been the governor of a state with 700,000 people for about 21 months.

Wow, are these some bad potential picks. Anyone else want to weigh in before McCoot holds us all spellbound at the Nutter Center? Does anyone care? :D

McCain's sitting in one of his 7, 8, oh who knows how many, glass houses throwing stones at Obama with ads featuring primary campaign quotes from Biden and Clinton. Well, you wanna start that? Great idea. You just picked a VP who practically endorsed Obama over you and bashed the fact that you've been in D.C. for a long time.

3. Right

Makes it sort of hard for him to go in that direction - - hence the T-Paw and Sarah Trooper speculation.

7. Rove does base politics, so it's not going to be a pro choice pick
that would get them in trouble with their base, which makes Ridge unlikely.

9. My republican friends despise Romney.
Here in Massachusetts, my republican friends are fiscally conservative and socially liberal (like me) and boy boy boy, do they despise Romney. Sure, they liked him initially, but due to his many course changes, he is a persona non grata.
Please let it be Romney!

10. Fox is not mentioning it at all really
this morning, but Morning Joe is all over the story that it is not Pawlenty. They are thinking Sarah Palin. McCain's only chance is to pick a woman and try to sway the "post-rational" crowd who keep crying and crying over Hillary. But if another Democrat woman wasn't going to be good enough for them, how the hell is a Republican woman not named Hillary going to work for McCain?

Could it just be Romney again!?!?

15. I've been hoping for Mittens for months.
I've been wishing that McCain would set aside his well-known personal dislike for the man and recognize that nobody else in the political world can eclipse McCain's flippity-floppitiness than Mittens.

Mittens is on video supporting abortion rights and longing for a day that gay marriage is legal throughout America. He belongs to a religion that most of the Republican Christian base considers apostate. He is from Massa-freeking-Chusetts. And for all the talk of "anti-Christ" among the Obama-hatin' knuckle-draggers, Mittens' cyborgian appearance actually fits that role far better.

If we can't beat a borderline-senile, hypersensitive old coot and his horrible Veep choice, we can't beat anyone.
