2. My brother's fundamentalist Presbyterian church considers
the Mormons a cult.

I have had two wonderful Mormon neighbors, but if you read about their beliefs, you will be amazed. Their founder claimed that an angel appeared to him and gave him stone tablets that only he could read; this was in New England in the 1800s.

3. Well, I find their doctrine no more bizarre as Noah's ark and the burning bush.
But yeah, many Christians think Mormons are cultists.

(I think all religion is cultish but I'm weird that way.)

4. NC and VA, yes. But, he would also open up some of the Deep South states, as well.
The fear of Mormons is strong in Baptist-land South...almost as strong as fear of the black man. If Mitten's is the choice (which I'm hoping is the case), then GA, TN, and others might be in play given the large African-American voting blocks there and the prospect of Fundies staying home.
