He will be showing great disrespect for the history of America, and for the American people,
and it would go down as the worse decision McCain has ever made other than deciding to run for President in 2008.

So let's not help the OP (Old Party) take away from Barack and the Democrats' day tomorrow by taking the bait as the OP (Old Party) will be throwing out leaks of running mates for George McCain. That's what they want, although I don't think that McCain is that senile to announce tomorrow!

Let's be smart at this forum, and ignore that shit tomorrow!

Just sayin'!

and thank you.

1. maybe not tomorrow night
but i think he might do it in the early morning hours of Friday so the news on friday morning is about his vp rather than the Obama speech.

2. Well, that is possible.......
That might not be a bad idea, for him.

That might be best for Obama as well....because as long as folks hear the speech, and word of mouth start to wag, might be good to cut the pundits out....since they will find something they don't like, or something they thought he should have said in the speech.

In otherwords, I don't think that actually hurts Barack....or the Dems.

12. good point
also, people will probably focus on going out Friday night, especially since it will be labor day weekend.

so people catch Obama's speech and maybe catch the news about who Mccain will pick but will be having picnics or something else away from home enjoying their last summer days. they wont be around to watch any rallies or other things about the vp pick.

and i can't think of anyone McCain can pick that would be impressive. even when i think of all the Republicans out there(not just those being mentioned as possible vp).

4. We know what the media might do......
I am asking that we don't play along.

No need to allow McCain to play us. Not on such an historic day.

And yes, I think that it would be bad strategy for McCain to step on
such a meaningful occasion.

and if it happened that demented way, it would be up to us to point
out the wrongness of it.

7. He won't because his veep would
get "lost" and get no coverage. It's just a lot of BS talk.

10. McCain could announce the reanimated cadaver of Reagan as his VEEP
but it still won't change the historic nature of Obama's speech. The newspapers will be full front page covering OBama's speech and victory lap and making all the easy comparisons to the struggle of African Americans during the 60's and civil rights progress during MLK's time of great leadership.

McCain would actually be stupid to not wait until late Friday to let it leak so he gets the coverage Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. (Admittedly, during a holiday/hurricane weekend). But still.

I know I'm not supposed to bring up hurricane and natural reminder of Katrina. But also....didn't the bridge that collapsed due to crumbling infrastructure of our country take place in Minneapolis area? Same spot as the GOP convention?

WOW.
