The DNC bet the keynote on Warner delivering VA. He's doing it, you're watching it, and Obama is going to get the benefit of it.

7. Because he's not talking to them, he's talking to VA
I watched him make this same sort of speech turn VA blue in '01 when everyone said it couldn't be done. This guy is amazingly effective in Virginia, and I can almost guarantee you that people back in my home state are eating this speech up.

14. I do
I lived in Maryland and worked in Virginia for years. Even my friend's Repub daughter and husband voted Warner for Governor. Unfortunately, they voted Bush.

16. If Obama comes off as a post-partisan in VA, he will win...the pundits are wrong here..
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 09:13 PM by sfam
Warner wasn't trying to get himself elected in VA (this was Tweedy's comment), he's trying to get Obama elected. Warner's already a shoe-in here.

22. Exactly
Chris Matthews fumbled that one, saying Warner's speech was designed to get him elected in Virginia. I wish I could have been there to laugh in Matthews' face.

That's one reason why I'm not as thrilled with Olbermann and Rachel as others here. Why aren't they inserting some reality, that Warner is a massive favorite in Virginia, trading above 90%? Olbermann heard Matthews from 2 inches away and didn't say a thing.
