Obama Word Slip -- Says 'We Sure as Hell' in Wisconsin Town Hall

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: Has Sen. Joe Biden already rubbed off on Sen. Obama?

Just one day after announcing his VP pick, the presumptive Democratic nominee showed a little bit of the loose lips reminiscent of the Delaware senator now on his ticket.

"If we can spend $10 to $12 billion a month in Iraq, we sure as HELL can pay $10 to $12 million -- billion dollars right here in the United States."

Obama was speaking about the need to invest money domestically -- on things like long-term energy solutions -- and looked a little flustered after the word "hell" came out of his mouth.

The Illinois senator quickly corrected his word slip in front of the town hall of 300 in Eau Claire, Wis.

"I apologize, by the way, I usually say 'heck,' especially after church. That sort of slipped out," Obama said shortly after his morning visit to First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.

14. I agree--about the language, anyway.

Take a trip to ANY local watering hole and you will hear "hell," "shit," "crap," "pissed off," or even maybe "damn" a whole lot more often than "shoot" or "shucky durn."

I can see how maybe the trust fund blue bloods don't talk like the rest of us, but I think the other 99.9% of the world probably isn't offended by a bit of strong language on occasion.

As for Lewis Black, I think he's funny as hell, but isn't he a Libertarian in RL?

When Governor Stanton is speaking to a bunch of laid off factory workers and is about to say "shit" but restrains himself and the lady in the audience yells "you can say it, we're x-rated" and he responds "well so am I if you believe what you read in the papers."

IMO there were probably kids in the audience and that's why Obama corrected himself.
