3. spin, spin - Chuck Todd on it:
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/08/23/1285720.aspx

On the GOP side, the sound you heard was disappointed silence. Of everyone on the short list, the candidate many Republicans least wanted to see Obama pick was Biden. Sure, they've already trotted out their talking points. And the McCain camp even produced a rapid-response TV ad highlighting some unkind words Biden said about Obama during the primaries. (We assume this now means McCain won’t be picking Romney, right? And doesn't the McCain ad actually send the message to swing voters that Obama's willing to surround himself with critics?) But there are too many intellectual conservatives (see David Brooks) who believe Biden's the most qualified guy Obama could have realistically picked.

8. The GOP didn't think Obama had the guts to pick Biden.
They were banking on an unknown like Kaine... they're well aware that Biden is an excellent choice and that this is a formidable ticket.

13. I don't think they're happy about the ticket, but they'd have been more afraid of Obama/Clinton.
They can read polls, too. And the polls showed that although Biden was definitely more favored by Democrats than potential veeps like Bayh and Kaine, the majority of Democrats wanted Clinton as VP. The polls show our party isn't united. And if you think the fact this ISN'T the unity ticket they feared isn't at least some consolation to the Republicans, even with Biden a pretty good choice for VP, you're kidding yourself.

I hope Biden can help Obama unite the party. But only the polls will tell us if he's doing that. GDPers are so unrepresentative of Democrats in general that most of them never understood how much support Clinton had, and still has.

Republicans did...and they did not want to run against her, whether she was at the top of the ticket or VP.

16. They've known they were going down hard for quite some time...
they are merely screaming into a moonless night. They have nothing, we know it, they know it, and they can scream all they want. They are going lose not just the WH, but Congress will gain D's as well...hopefully a LOT of D's.

The GOP is a complete disaster, one they created on their own. The neo-cons have destroyed whatever dignity the GOP had and I am looking forward the burial of the neo-con movement once and for all.

20. They are scared shitless.. that's why they are dangerous....
The Dems CAN NOT afford to take the attacks unanswered this time. When Kerry let the attackers go unanswered in '04.. not only did he loose ground.. he gained the "contempt" of the voters for being such a wimp. (Thus, we got the storyline of 'the guy you'd like to have a beer with vs the windsurfing wimp'). Sorry to say that the Republicans have turned the Presidential election into a World Wrestling Federation match or a high school cheer-leading contest, but they have. Think back to 8th grade.. when the bully kept taking your lunch money. When you finally picked up a baseball bat and cracked him over the head.. it stopped. Karl Rove and the Swift boaters are in meetings at this very minute. They are faxing their talking points to the media whores at CNN and Faux as we speak. Obama and Biden have got to be ready for the: underhanded-unbelievable-lies-smears-strawman-sick-despicable attacks that are going to come from the right.

22. You are correct - RW radio is getting increasingly racist, hateful, & inflammatory,
The RW radio "personalties" are getting real close to inciting violence against anyone & thing they deem "the terror within" and "dangerous". I don't know where the FCC is, but some of the crap coming from RW radio / television should be getting them in trouble.

24. Go here and register your complaint...but you have to have specifics
you just can't say, "Limbaugh sucks", you need to have dates and times when they do this stuff.

Every time I have made a complaint, they've followed up, even if they didn't act. Action depends on the # of complaints per item.
