This will be front-page on just about every newspaper tomorrow and Sunday.

That's a good thing heading into the convention.

The text thing was delayed due to McCain's houses gaffe, otherwise we probably would have received it today and been "the first to know". Though we DU junkies were always likely to not hear it from the text first, as obsessive as we are. :eyes:

That is all.

Edited: Because apparently I'm the only one who enjoys Saturday papers ;)

1. It missed our paper's deadline.
I work at a daily newspaper. Our deadline for the final edition is midnight. The news broke at 1 a.m., half an hour after the press room guys had gone home for the night.

3. Time to go with the 2nd day angle
I guess that's the nature of our business these days. (I work for a large metro daily)

6. Yeah, I guess so. At least by then we'll have (hopefully) some

official quotes from Obama instead of hearsay from unnamed sources. I mean, I'm 99 percent certain the news is legit, but I'd rather be 100 percent.

4. Good to know. I actually was out with friends and came home to the breaking news...
So I wasn't sure exactly WHEN it had broken.

7. I'm in the Eastern time zone, if that helps. Yeah, it moved on the AP server
shortly before 1 a.m., but even then it was only the one sentence with no attribution. Details didn't start to come out for another 15 minutes or so.

2. It'll be front page in the Sunday papers
And as someone who works for a large newspaper, that's the most read issue of the week (by far).

5. No, it is not - Saturday is the least read paper of the entire week!
Just for your information.
