4. Did you hear Keith Olbermann announcing that Ali would be at the convention last night?
Keith commented that "a lot of people love that man" - he was verklempt. He talked about how Ali generally stayed away from politics, but contacted the campaign to tell them that he would be attending and that he wanted the campaign to make his presence known. Amazing. Simply amazing.

May 9, 1967. In April, World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Muhammad Ali had refused induction into the U.S. Army based on his religious convictions. He claimed, "I ain't got no quarrel with those Vietcong." On this day, following his indictment by 24 hours, he was stripped of his title and his license to fight by the World Boxing Association.
In June, a court found him guilty of draft evasion, fined him $10,000, and sentenced him to five years in prison. He remained free, pending numerous appeals, but was still barred from fighting for three years.

14. Me too. When I take my son to the barber shop, I always look at it in awe.
About a month ago, my son asked who it was, and this lady boxing fan got to tell her son the whole amazing, inspring story.

I was just a kid then, even younger than my son, but I've always loved Ali.

9. How is Ali's health these days?
Is attending the convention like climbing a mountain for him?

I hope he can give a wave from the stage.

10. Actually, he called the DNC and said he wanted to come.
Everyone expected he'd support McCain because they know each other. Said he wanted to be there for such a historical moment.
