Why would Obama announce his VP on the Friday news dump?

Friday is not always a dead zone. The Olympics started on Friday. It's the perfect way to put him in the everyday discussion all weekend long.

Friday: Announce
Saturday: Campaign with VEEP
Sunday: Talking Shows about Veep
Monday: Convention
