McCain gaffe worse than George H.W. Bush's scanner moment
http://www.politicalbase.com/profile/Mark%20Nickolas/blog/&blogId=3192

"Mark Ambinder asks whether John McCain's (R) answer that he doesn't know how many homes he owns is worst that President George H.W. Bush's (R) cluelessness about grocery store scanners?

This'll be tough for McCain because our current economic situation is so directly tied to the housing crisis.

Maybe McCain isn't thought of as "rich," but it doesn't take a whole lot of persuasion to convince people that he doesn't have a feel for what's going on with the economy.

I'd say that 99% of Americans know exactly what their mortgage rate is each month, not to mention how many homes they own. (McCain does not have a mortgage.)

It fits perfectly into Obama's out-of-touch Washingtonian versus new ideas for today's world frame.

The media is all over this comments and couldn't have come at a worse time for him as the spotlight returns to the presidential campaign this weekend with Barack Obama's (D) announcement of his running mate leading into the Democratic convention. I suspect we're going to hear a lot of about it."

2. Yeah, and when they came back and talked about Obama earning 4 million last year, hell
that isn't rich. Didn't McSame say it took 5 million before you were rich?

That Obama worked for his money, while McCain whored for it.

5. All of the attacks on Edward's being rich and his enormous house
did not hurt him.

The GOP have used this to roll out ads regarding Rezco, and
a Weatherman Ad-- Wm Ayers and Obama. Even showing on Home
and Garden TV Channel. 527's, I believe.

My point is two millionaires taking shots at each other
over houses may impress our shallow media but the public
pays not one ounce of attention.

Always remember, Kerry's being rich was not the problem.
It is the image of what being rich does to you that matters.
Warren Buffet can be the most down to earth non-elitist
person. Think of his money.

Go after McCain on Economic Conservatism and how this
philosophy creates a society of a few very very rich and
crowds, masses of poor and working poor and a disappearing
middle class.
