Cone of silence
Not so much.

I'm not sure this really has much impact on the credibility of either of the candidates, but if Rick Warren were running for president, this wouldn't look awful good:

"We have safely placed Senator McCain in a cone of silence," he said, when that was not in fact true.

Hands off McCain Ben?

2. I am going to advance a theory ...
I still think that Warren, in terrain that favored McCain, tried to be an honest broker ...

Let's say that the origional agreement WAS for McCain to be backstage ...

Then, that day, the McCain camp let him know that due to his travel schedule, he would not be able to arrive at Saddleback until a few minutes before he was due on stage - knowing they could tune in the XM on the ride ...

Just saying ...

5. If he was in a limo en route to the show, I assume he just watched it on tv.

6. I refuse to blame Warren and I think he was sick of McCain, frankly.

7. Could it have been that hard to require the candidates to arrive before the event?
Could it have been that hard to announce to the crowd that McCain had NOT been sequestered?

Could it have been that hard to tell McCain he would be asked different questions, since he had not been in a 'cone of silence'?

Could it have been that hard to announce to the press afterwards that it was possible for McCain to have heard the questions, and had an advantage over Obama?

No. It was not that hard. And the fact that Rick Warren didn't bother to do any of those things tells me all I need to know about the good 'Christian'. Gag.
