I don't think he will pick Romney b/c he comes across as a fake, slick, politician.

Obama needs to reinforce his change, authenticity message (and he can't do that with a Washington, DC insider). If he picks a politician, the GOP will use that to successfully define Obama as just another politician.

6. I said he would pick someone to reinforce this image, not that he would pick
Edited on Mon Aug-04-08 04:29 PM by Skwmom
someone that was actually a maverick and a non-politician. Image doesn't often coincide with reality.

12. It will not be Lieman
as McBush has enough problem with his base already. Even though he is a traitor, he is "nominally" a Democrat and that will not play well with Repugs. I still reckon Romney - there was a reason he pulled out and it was not lack of money or support.

5. I think James Garner (Brett Maverick) is too old to be Vice President.
Plus, I think he's a Democrat?

8. Plus he has experience, since he was already president.
Matt Douglas, the greatest one-term president we've ever seen!

13. Mel Gibson?
He played the role in a failed movie with Jodie Foster in the 90s plus the Fundies love him.

7. He's going to pick Lieberman
He'll probably frame it as him "reaching across the aisle."

9. I thought so, but not so sure anymore. I do not think McClown has any control over his campaign
his handlers will pick the VP and he'll have to accept it. Most likely who can be controlled easily and polls well.

11. You could be right.
Unlike Obama, he doesn't have the strength in the party to pick his own VP.

14. McNasty has caved on every other issue, so he's likely to pick Romney, even if it sickens him.
McNasty sold his soul when he supported Bush in 2004. Why would he stop now when he thinks the White House is within reach?

15. Bingo
He will pick who he's told to pick(likely Romney) or he really will be cut off and in Bob Dole territory. A geriatric cancer survivor will pick the next Bush cabal VP who can then choose Jeb or someone equally bad and unacceptable to the electorate. Hell, maybe Cheney again?
