He's not as invested in defeating McCain as he was in Bush.

4. Well, he invested heavily in a voter education drive that failed to deliver Kerry to the White House

so he may be hesitant to do it that way again. The problem with his approach was that it recruited thousands of people OUTSIDE of their own communities to try to persuade people in other states and communities. That was a wrong "strategery." Republicans won by having their own people in those communities do the organizing. People are suspicious of outsiders coming in and telling them what to do. I'm glad Obama has learned that lesson and is organizing at the local level with local people.
