I'm I missing something why is it a negative for a black candidate to talk race
and the stinking media is helping McDick use the race issue as being something negitive. The Obama campaign screwed this up the first time McDick said he was using the race card he should have said of coarse I'm using it because we already have seen things like this. http://www.plunderbund.com/2008/06/11/racist-obama-doll/

Edited on Sat Aug-02-08 07:37 PM by Raineyb
Me? I don't give a damn how uncomfortable it makes them but then I'm not running for office.

Regards

Edited to add "some." Should have included it in the first place.

3. My I ask you, please, to
change that to say it makes SOME white people feel uncomfortable? Not all of us, by any means.

6. (many)White people get scared
Many white people think that because Jim Crow is gone that everything is okie-dokie, that racism no longer exists. There is also a belief (sometimes conscience, sometimes un-conscience) that a black person in a position of power will govern in a way that is favorable for blacks at the expense of white people. If you mention racism, it reinforces an idea in their un-evolved brain that you want "special privileges".

This is related to why every black politician running for national office is put through the "Farrakhan test", that is, that before the black politician can pass go they must denounce Louis Farrakhan. If they fail to do so (they are always asked), their career ends pretty quickly.

For far too many, they only understand racism to be a white hooded person yelling racial epithets as they threaten a black person. It's hard for many people to understand that because it is now legally and socially unacceptable to abuse and threaten a person of color that racism has taken on a new face, one that speaks code and hides behind a thin facade. Those who operate behind that thin facade have done a good job at convincing others who would like to believe that they are not a racist that "reverse racism" exists and is exhibited everytime a black person speaks out against unfair, offensive, and abusive practices from individuals or society as a whole.

Part of our collective un-conscience as a nation is ill. I think that Obama handled the situation very well.

7. Only STUPID white people.
BTW. We'll be fine Darryl.. You'll see.

Sometimes it feels like the big senate and congressional elections of 2006 on here.

Remember how it was just before that election? A lot of DU'ers were in panic mode, publishing one grim poll after another and predicting the worst.

It didn't quite turn out the way a lot of DU'ers thought it would....
