5. And, thankfully, we win state by state.
Polls are generally crap but I followed pollsters state by state graphs religiously during the primaries.

National polls are pretty useless, except for the MSM to create drama and ratings.

2. But: sky = falling.
Good post. Rec'd.

Nice to see that there are a few people here that aren't clutching their pearls and hitting the fainting couch.

Cheers.

7. You too, SKP.
Looks like we got us some fine weather in the NYC area this weekend.

I'll be in a bar with a guitar tomorrow night - but I'm going to a BBQ tomorrow, so it evens out.

3. THe MSM would have nothing to report on if they told the truth. The race is over and Obama has
already won. THey have not reported new registration numbers because that would tell the story.

12. Indeed, the state polls are the reason Obama is consistently winning 320+ electoral votes
... in models created from polls in each state.

Because of the way the electoral votes are won - state by state - that's how I look at polling for the election. Looking at a national number that changes daily is pure folly. It's not the race, and it's not reliable.

When you have 4 polls in a state, and they show Obama with an average lead of 10 points, you can rack that state. Likewise for states that show McCain up 10. Doing that kind of polling in every state gives us the most clear picture of where the election is headed. All of the models show Obama winning, and most show him winning big. McCain has to almost run the table on the battleground states to win.

13. All the outrage is from the MSM and the national polls.
Too much drama, IMO

And McCain's own Arizona!

If we make a concerted GOTV effort we might just pull these states off!

Let's hope Obama's coat-tails are long enough to get us up to 60 senators.

19. 60-65 Senators is not impossible.
The law finally caught up to Stevens in Alaska, that helps.
