Maybe it's just me, but . . .
after watching the "protesters" at the Obama town hall meeting in Florida, I got the distinct whiff of rat. Especially since everything the "protesters" were concerned about has already been addressed by Obama. Is there a chance they could have been hired guns from the McBush slime factory trying to gin up the race meme? Just a thought.

1. I'm suspicious of that too--and here's why: Maybe they were hoping
Edited on Fri Aug-01-08 03:44 PM by wienerdoggie
that Obama would handle it wrong--maybe he might say "reparations" or look like he was overly sympathetic to their cause and against whites, or maybe would get into an ugly shouting match--they set him up for Landstuhl, don't think for a second they're not setting him up for something else too.

3. Also odd that there were two white women with these young men.
I can't imagine these guys would be going around with white women. I'm thinking (tinfoil time) they were the Repuke supervisors for this scam...Of course, the joke is on them, Obama and staff may have gotten wind of it and were totally prepared...

4. I honestly think it helps him more than it hurts him
particularly when McCain is trying to make a race card argument.

6. nah, I was there - they were quite serious about their cause -
the woman was so strident, she reminded me of a college roommate I had that had ZERO sense of humor, and everthing was a grand tragedy perpetuated by the man - it got too be too much, any good message she had was lost in how tiring and angry she was ALL THE TIME.

11. couldn't tell, those around her were drowning her out
the second time she tried to stand and shreik, a loud voice (a woman's, I don't know whose, but much clearer and stronger than the others) said, "Oh, sit down already". The people all 'yes we can'd her into silence.

7. Kerry got ONLY 86% of the black in 2004 but Obama getting 91% = Ohio is won giving the same folk
...will come back and vote dem again.

Seeing that McSame supports free trade the way it is I don't see that happening (unless the MsM outright lies for McSame).

They HAVE to shave off some black voter support.....

Hell, he's trailing a single digit in Texas!!

10. The situation
worked out extremely well for Obama. That said, I do not think it was a set-up, arranged by either campaign. I think the people had some serious questions about important issues. As with so many Americans (of all colors), they were also unfamiliar with Obama's record.

12. I agree with you, H2O Man.
Those young men were on a mission - their own mission. They do have legitimate concerns and probably see Obama as a sell-out. Some in the (black) community do. But, they are young. I hope they take Obama up on his challenge to get involved if they are unhappy with things are going.

15. Florida has had this sort of thing happen before, the Brooks Brothers riot in 2000.

When Al Gore was trying to get the votes counted. The people that were screaming on tv were all Republicans, flown in for the occasion - by Tom Delay and others.

17. I don't think this hurts Obama.
For any white voters who are afraid an Obama administration might cater too heavily to the AA community, this helps to dispel that. Much the same way that Jesse Jackson making nasty comments about Obama actually helps Obama.
