and they're being shot at small arms and rockets right? Now nobody in the press has asked these liars what the hell are you doing WATCHING JOHN KERRY'S BOAT when you're being shot at?It's such an obvious lie when you visualize the story as it's told by EITHER side.If there are bullets flying who in their right mind would care what the guys in the other boats are doing anyway? At that moment survival instincts take over AND they're two friggin football Fields away from each other.Young eyes or not-that's too far and under way too scary and foggy conditions.Anybody with me here?

1. Ah, but the liars have changed their story,
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 04:35 PM by olddem43
Now, there is no incoming fire. It's just a day on the river. Kerry just made it all up, including paperwork for the two other Bronze stars for guys on the other boats (nice of him). The guy he saved is lying too. Also, the guy from the Chicago paper that was the officer on one of the boats and, of course, all the guys on Kerry's boat. You have to check daily to see which story Elliot is telling so that you will know whether he is lying or not. In fact, you have to check daily to see what O'Neill's latest version is. O'Neill is otherwise believable though, because he said he voted for Al Gore in 2000. Although it is a little unusual for a Nixon shill who has donated many thousands to Republicans over the last 30 years to vote for Al Gore, that convinced me, because I am the Count of Monte Cristo.

5. Just a question...
you won't learn if you don't ask. What happened to boat 43? If they were following Kerry, why weren't they able to pick Rassman up? I read somewhere that another boat was inches away from picking Rassman up...is this the boat in question? If so, what took them so long?

6. And why would they recall it all so well
It would be like remembering a football play in one game you participated in 30 years ago: All the players positions, the score, the color of the opponents uniforms, etc.

Why do they believe their memories are so cogent to recall facts to the extent that brings them to contradict what is on record and in the minds of those with and close to Kerry?

Could psychology and memory experts help refute the claims of the Vets that have been duped into revising the "Bush-Cheney" version of reality.

7. What makes this stink so damnable is...
that story changes according to who's telling it.

Rood says that there were only three boats on the river that day. Yet countless accounts that I've heard seem to make the whole squadron be out there.

8. The mine was detonated by remote control?
Of course there was enemy fire. This was an ambush for gosh sakes. Ask any one who was there about the fighting resources of the Viet Cong. They didn't set off mines and not try to close in for the kill. Thurlow is contradicted by every document created at the time. It's over.

9. This whole course of events is so wrong--- yet was so
predictable.

The Kerry people vastly underestimated the bitterness of Kerry's former comrades. Apparently these guys are willing to lie publically and extensively to retaliate against Kerry for his anti-war actions.

I doubt that the mine was detonated by remote control--- but, hell, I wasn't there and don't know squat about river warfare in 'Nam.

10. it doesn't deserve that level of thought
just the fact that absolutely no one disputed any of these events at the time makes this a big joke.
