Why Obama iss not vetting Hillary doesn't mean anything...
It's simple. His campaign fully vetted her during the last year and a half. What a total waste of money to re-vet her. I do not think this means she is out of the running. I think it is silly to draw that conclusion. She is still on the list of possibilities.

1. It's a different kind of vetting at this point, including icky things like...
...Bill's business dealings. Not likely she's still in the running, especially considering the way the Clinton team is pressuring Obama about money ~ who needs that kind of thing when you're trying to govern?

3. How do we know he's not vetting her?
Didn't she accompany him to one of the 'vetters' office the other day?

4. maybe its just the Howard Wolfson "She's not being vetted..as far as I know" report
But if she WAS being vetted I hope that Hillary's people would be too smart to tell Wolfson, or that Wolfson would be too smart to tell Fox. That being said, I still feel like she's not going to be VP.

10. Oh - I just now saw that article.
I was just wondering if she'd made a "no" statement like some of the others have.

And I'm with you - -my feeling is she won't be VP, for a myriad of reasons.

5. There is nothing left to know about Hillary or Bill
they've continued to be vetted for the last 16 years.

18 million Democrats can't be all wrong. Obama needs Hillary.

6. 18 million voters CAN be wrong...G Bush is proof.
Hillary was unelectable, those donors and those millions and those lies would have been just what republicans needed.

Fully vetted? Not by a long shot.

7. Not 18 million voters, 18 million DEMOCRATS
by far, the largest popular vote count in this year's primaries. I LOL each time I see someone deny the 18 million votes. I LOL each time I see someone say 18 million democrats are wrong. That is so messed up it's not even funny anymore, really.

12. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the other 18M are the ones who were wrong?
Hillary will always be to me the better candidate and the better option. Yes, Obama is the nominee, but that doesn't mean that all of the sudden those who voted for her think that she was a poor choice. Quite the contrary, after the FISA vote and so many "adjustments" of positions by our nominee in the past 2 weeks, some of those who voted for him in the primary have buyer's remorse. Check the LF blogs......

13. Irrelevant - Primaries Are Over
Edited on Fri Jul-11-08 11:31 AM by Median Democrat
The only issue is whether Hillary should be picked as Vice-President, a job that has been compared with warm bucket of spit. The qualities that make a good presidential candidate are not the same as those of VP. If anything, you almost want someone who is boring, rather than trying to create excitement with a VP. How many times is a President elected because of the VP?

Also, I've said it before, there is a greater likelihood that Obama would appoint Hillary to the Supreme Court, rather than have her as his VP. Of course, this is not going to be announced before hand, because the RW would melt down at the prospect of Hillary on the Court. However, Earl Warren is a good precedent.

Just so that you know I am not Hillary bashing, here is an old thread in which I argued strongly in favor of Hillary:

14. I would prefer Hillary as VP because I still want her to be president some day.
The SCOTUS would take her out of the running forever and that to us who support her would be a shame.

8. Vetting VPs means having them make disclosures about financial interests & relationships
The Clintons would have to make significant disclosures they have not made public previously.

If Hillary is being vetted, we will hear about it.

15. all of the leaks about who is getting vetted and who is not doesn't mean anything

IMHO the vice president nominee will (and must be) somebody who can add 5% points to Ohio, Indiana, VA and PA.

Obama outperforms virtually every other region.

This one region he slighly underperforms and that is where we need the help.
