This is too funny, I am very glad that Jackson is calling Bush out on this one!

The Rev. Jackson takes Keyes side?

Saturday, August 21, 2004

By Kristen McQueary
Staff writer
U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes found an unlikely ally Friday in his effort to land a speaking role at the Republican National Convention.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson during a radio show challenged President Bush and GOP convention organizers to give Keyes a prominent speaking role. Keyes deserves the support of his party "for the risk and the heat he is taking," Jackson said.

"President Bush said blacks should not let the Democratic Party take them for granted and that more blacks should run as Republicans," Jackson said on WBBM Newsadio's "At Issue" program taping. "Now he has what he asked for."

The Keyes campaign has been lobbying convention organizers for a speaking role to balance the keynote slot given to his opponent, Barack Obama, at the Democratic National Convention in Boston.

2. The more visible he is, the better.
It won't help him win, but it will help establish the Republicans as what they are: a party that has been taken over by loons.

4. I don't think he's taking his side
so to speak, just stating the obvious--Keyes is a repub and should be given a spot at the convention. Hell, then EVERYONE would know what a nutcase he is!;)

6. Exactly. Jackson is just pointing out a hypocrisy.
The Repugs keep claiming that the Dems take blacks for granted, well Jesse is just challenging them back that if the Repugs are so inclusive, why don't they let Keyes speak at the RNC.

9. Good for Jesse!
This IS hilarious....and Jesse's got them good and hooked...

Keep him from speaking, and you've pointed up what racist shitheels the GOP are...

Put him on the podium, and you show the country what hypocritical craziness is first hand...
