Maverick? Try this one...

the old Maverick:

From imdb.com:

Brothers Bret and Bart Maverick (usually separately, but sometimes together) travel across the West trying to stay out of trouble and make a lot of money. The Mavericks preferred playing cards rather than engaging in any sort of manual labor, and, if in trouble, would prefer to leave town than stay and fight. Always conceived as a satire of Westerns, the series later featured the exploits of younger brother Brent and cousin Beau after the departure of actor James Garner.

The new Maverick:

Grandfather, father and grandson john mccain (usually separately, but sometimes thrust together in stories and commercials for good political PR) traveled across Arizona trying to stay out of trouble, such as wet-starting airplanes and causing scores of deaths, or collaborating with the North Vietnamese, and making a lot of money by marrying a beer heiress. mccain preferred 'straight-talk' (called: bullshit) rather than engaging in any useful labor, and, if in trouble, would prefer to get his family's friends to help rather than to admit guilt. Always conceived as a satire of politicians, these act later featured the exploits of his wife, stretched-too-thin cindy, and various blonde women he met while eschewing lobbyists (or is that 'chewing' lobbyists?)
