Interesting conversation just now with my Financial Advisor.

A few months ago she told me that the markets would hurt if Obama was elected. I simply asked her at that time whether an intelligent woman like her really believed that myth and how she thought things went under the last democratic President. Got no answer then. But today she tells me that GWB is a complete and utter disaster and wouldn't it be nice if he could "just go now." She said that she had always voted Republican but this time around was voting for Obama. Times they are a changin' I think.

2. Remember when Obama said...

... the gas tax holiday proposal touted by both Clinton and McCain was just a "phony scheme and gimmick" that wouldn't help the economy? He really stood out as a leader in that moment, by listening to the vast majority of economists instead of poll-watching advisors and political handlers.

I believe the financial community saw in that moment the kind of mettle Obama offers as our future President.

5. I found out the other day that the woman who cuts my hair is (was) a republican, but

both she and her husband have become Democrats to vote for Obama. Same thing as your Financial Adviser--she said that the Bush years have been a disaster and embarrassment to repubs and that she sees great hope for the country in Obama. She HATES McCain.

8. I was a tad surprised when Jim Kramer endorsed Obama's economic policy last Sunday

after his anti-union rants. But he did, and re-stated it in very certain terms when asked for clarification.

9. He's donated a lot of money to Dems and the DNC

and nothing to Republicans. Which is odd considering he calls Democrats "Bolsheviks." :shrug:
