Democrats select delegates for national convention

FREMONT, Neb. — The Nebraska Democratic Party completed its selection of national convention delegates on Saturday.

The party will send 31 delegates to the convention in Denver that is expected to nominate Sen. Barack Obama for president.

Twenty-five were chosen at the state convention, with Obama getting 16 and Sen. Hillary Clinton eight. One was unpledged.

The delegates:

1st Congressional District (6) — Obama: Lisa Olivares, Janet Banks, Joe Nigro, Terry Werner. Clinton: Britt Miller, Jane Raybould.

2nd Congressional District (6) — Obama: Ron Kaminski, Shelisa Minnifield, Brenda Council, Loyd Neve, Lorraine Chang. Clinton: Judy Monaghan.

3rd Congressional District (4) — Obama: Judy Vohland, Douglas Cambridge. Clinton: Joy Phillipi, Jeremiah Quintin.

At-Large (5) — Obama: State Sen. Amanda McGill, State Sen. Steve Lathrop, Kim Robak. Clinton: Robin Quarles, Martha Ross.

Pledged (3) — Obama: Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey, Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler. Clinton: Lisa Hannah.

Unpledged (1) — Ken Mass.

Superdelegates (6) — Obama: Sen. Ben Nelson, national committeemen Vince Powers and Frank La Mere, national committeewoman Kathleen Fahey, state party chairman Steve Achelpohl and state party associate chairwoman Audra Ostergard.
