Yes, it's a fact, he is masterful at pushing Political Tactics.

As any military person will tell you, tactics win the skirmishes and battles.

Strategy wins the war. Karl Rove is no strategist. He moves from tactic to tactic with an overall "strategy" of trying to keep his opponents off balance with a barage of tactical attacks.

Strategy wins the war. Kerry's team has demonstrated long term strategic thinking with the ultimate goal of getting to the finish line ahead of Bush. This masterful Political Strategy is evidenced by the fact that today, Gallup showed Kerry up on Bush in Ohio. The Smear Boat Liars for Bush tactic has failed due to the long term strategic movements of the Kerry campaign.

So watch this election closely, my fellow DUers. Strategy wins in the long run. We may lose battles and skirmishes along the way, but we're winning this war!

4. Yep, especially since it's THEIR POLL!!!
It is amazing. If Kerry wasn't going through the media filter, this would be a totally lopsided race.

11. Karl Rove HAS to be that good.
Of course Karl Rove has to be a master of the game, because he has to sell the most corrosive economic, political and social agenda in American History.

He has to sell values that are unamerican at their core.

Our challenge is counterpunching with the truth, and we are surely doing it.

We cannot be afraid of the Karl Roves, if anything we should pity them as we scientifically and systematically take the agenda he is trying to sell and dismantle it piece by piece.

The best hand is this poker game belongs to us, DON'T LET THE CHEAP LABOR CONSERVATIVES BLUFF YOU OUT OF PLAYING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

10. Thanks!
Do you think that many people who are under the spell of Bushco will be embarrassed when the indictments start coming after the election?

It would be beautiful if the real October Surprise is four guys (Rove included) being frog marched out of the White House for the treasonous act of outing a CIA agent.

3. Rove Doesn't Have Much To Work With
He'd probably look alot more genius-ish if Bush had any sort of record to run on.

6. you made my night!
I think you're right. I sure do hope you're right. Kerry sure seems to be very smart and savvy and you've gotta be both in this election. I'm thinking that even if Bush goes ahead a bit during this period, it's fine. Might even be good. It'll encourage the powermad nutballs to overreach again, as is their specialty. Kerry's specialty seems to be closing, and that's what we need.

9. when Ohio State plays McNeese state....better athletes and team win
Although I agree with the point you are trying to make that Kerry campaign strategists have been quite deft and turning Rovian weapons back on the White House, I think it's also a clear case of better level of players.

I mean....we are talking Kerry vs. Bush, Edwards vs. Cheney, Holbrooke against Powell, and any capable Dem politician against the evil doomsday men Rumsfeld and Asscroft.

People are just sick of these people and the facts on the ground both in Iraq and here at home just don't support the case that this president has done much to move America forward. He's downright wrecked certain aspects of this country from diplomatic relations to the humongous deficit.

15. He Has Three Tactics
Vicious smear, backstab and bait and switch.

Once you are aware of these tactics, they are easy to defend against.

Kerry knew that a full frontal vicious smear attack on his military record was coming. That's why he has been talking so heavily about his military past (some would say ad nauseaum) and going around w/ his band of brothers. He was thinking ahead, strategically to counter the attack he knew was coming.

Yup, Kerry knows exactly what he's doing. He's aware of everything we hope he is, including the media bias and BBV. I have faith he's got strategies in place to deal with them.

16. Yep, and he combines them to formulate "Strategery"
And that';s exactly what it is, strategery. Keep smearing, backstabbing, and baiting then switching.

there is nothing else in his arsenal.

The Kerry camp has his number, and they've been playing his tactics against him in a strategy that is masterful in and of itself!

18. Karl Rove is a reasonably decent tactician and strategist.
what make his tactics and strategies effective are:

1)Message and surrogate operations that are always in high gear, and, frankly, staffed by people smarter and more experienced than ours--and with more of them.

2) The willingness of GOP surrogates (especially elected officials) to stay on message relentlessly. This I have never understood except that it probably has to do with rank coercion. How many rethug surrogates have you heard say something that isn't in their political interest given their district/state/legislative bailiwick etc?

3) A gun shy media, not only emasculated and defeminized by 9-11, but also by the effective GOP screaming-about-media-bias operation, which the Dems are just now "officially" starting.

4) Rove isn't afraid to take risks, is never paralyzed by inaction. This I think he learned from Clinton's operation--the number of votes you'll lose by hitting (and hitting back) hard will never exceed the number you'll take from the other guy. Recent proof: Amazingly, the swift boat ads cost Kerry up to 27 percent of independents--but cost chimp only 1.5 percent in backlash.

5)Unlimited funding.
