I liked Clark, then Dean, then Edwards and campaigned hard for Kerry because I dreaded four more years of Bush.

4. Voted for Kerry
So did everyone I knew. Ohio 2004 was the Florida of 2000.

I liked Dean - then Edwards - Then settled for the NOM.

Will do the same this time.

Like Edwards - Now backing Obama - Will vote for the NOM.

Edited on Tue May-27-08 11:13 AM by DaveTheWave
But never was "voting republican", "staying home", or "voting 3rd party" ever an option. I would have gotten out of a hospital bed to vote democrat if I had to.

Even if Hillary steals the nomination I'll still vote for her. What the fuck is wrong with people?

I was for Clark initially, slowly switched to Edwards and remain an Edwards man today. That said, I worked my a$$ off in Tallahassee to get Kerry elected.

Dean was my first choice, but Kerry was handed to me as the most electable candidate. By the time Novemeber came around, I was in love. That is to say I was thrilled to blacken the dot by his name.

14. Dean ----> Kerry
I wasn't pleased about it. I fought wars here then like there are here now against kerry. I did not like him. I have since met him and it completely changed my perspective of him.

I was not pleased when I pulled that lever but the nightmare of bush was way too much to do anything else. In retrospect now I would vote for him enthusiastically.

15. Edwards was my first choice, but I ended up siding with the Kerry camp at my caucus
when it became clear that I was going to be the hold-out in winning the most delegates our precinct (we're a small precinct). After that, I became a big supporter of Kerry's not because I thought he was a fantastic candidate, but because like most people I dreaded George W. winning.

18. Gore-->Kucinich/Dean-->Kerry
I wanted Gore to run. When he bowed out I was torn between Kucinich and Dean. I worked for both of them and I was elected a Dean delegate to the DNC.

When Kerry become the nominee I did everything I could to get Kerry elected. I registered voters. I signed people up for absentee ballots and then followed up with them to make sure they voted and got them in to the county clerk's office. I worked at my local Dem HQ, held fundraisers, helped others do fundraisers, made phone calls and drove people to the polling places on election day. I was ABBA (Anybody But Bush Again) all the way. Now I am ABRA, Anybody But Republicans Again.

I will say that even now, and I am from Ohio and have worked on the election investigations, as well as reform, that I still respect Sen Kerry, especially for his investigation into BCCI:

Follow the Money

How John Kerry busted the terrorists' favorite bank.

By David Sirota and Jonathan Baskin
Two decades ago, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) was a highly respected financial titan. In 1987, when its subsidiary helped finance a deal involving Texas oilman George W. Bush, the bank appeared to be a reputable institution, with attractive branch offices, a traveler's check business, and a solid reputation for financing international trade. It had high-powered allies in Washington and boasted relationships with respected figures around the world.
All that changed in early 1988, when John Kerry, then a young senator from Massachusetts, decided to probe the finances of Latin American drug cartels. Over the next three years, Kerry fought against intense opposition from vested interests at home and abroad, from senior members of his own party; and from the Reagan and Bush administrations, none of whom were eager to see him succeed.

By the end, Kerry had helped dismantle a massive criminal enterprise and exposed the infrastructure of BCCI and its affiliated institutions, a web that law enforcement officials today acknowledge would become a model for international terrorist financing. As Kerry's investigation revealed in the late 1980s and early 1990s, BCCI was interested in more than just enriching its clients--it had a fundamentally anti-Western mission. Among the stated goals of its Pakistani founder were to "fight the evil influence of the West," and finance Muslim terrorist organizations. In retrospect, Kerry's investigation had uncovered an institution at the fulcrum of America's first great post-Cold War security challenge.

More than a decade later, Kerry is his party's nominee for president, and terrorist financing is anything but a back-burner issue. The Bush campaign has settled on a new strategy for attacking Kerry: Portray him as a do-nothing senator who's weak on fighting terrorism. "After 19 years in the Senate, he's had thousands of votes, but few signature achievements," President Bush charged recently at a campaign rally in Pittsburgh; spin that's been echoed by Bush's surrogates, conservative pundits, and mainstream reporters alike, and by a steady barrage of campaign ads suggesting that the one thing Kerry did do in Congress was prove he knew nothing about terrorism. Ridiculing the senator for not mentioning al Qaeda in his 1997 book on terrorism, one ad asks: "How can John Kerry win a war if he doesn't know the enemy?"

-snip

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2004/0409.sirota.html

I don't feel the same way about Hillary Clinton, especially with the Clinton's link to Jackson Stephens (financier to Bush, Clinton, Wal-Mart & BCCI) I will not support the Clintons-either one. Research these connections-follow the money.

35. I really really REALLY wanted Clark.
So when Clark didn't get the nomination, I screamed and insulted and threw temper tantrums until I got thrown off the board, and then went and massaged my victimhood until the GE, where I voted for W got behind Kerry and supported and voted for him, and was civil and respectful on this board, even though I continued to feel regretful and wistful about Clark.

Had plegded to replace GWB's photo on my dart board with Kerry/Edwards if they lost, but I never did.
