NY Gov Paterson: Clinton should give up on Michigan, Florida
I was glad to see this earlier today

ALBANY, N.Y. - New York Gov. David Paterson, who is a superdelegate supporting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, said he hopes she will end her effort to count Michigan and Florida votes to save her presidential campaign.

In his latest round of radio interviews statewide, Paterson also said Thursday that he's beginning to see "a little desperation," on Clinton's part.

The Democratic governor said he doubts his home-state senator would get the edge in the popular vote over front-running Sen. Barack Obama for his party's nomination, even if the two states' votes were counted.

The governor says Clinton shouldn't derail the process in which the Democratic National Committee disallowed results from the Michigan and Florida primaries because they were held too early.

A Clinton spokesman declined comment.

6. Holding the FLA/MI primaries early, against the rules, favored the candidate
with big money upfront (rich donors) and disfavored an insurgent candidate--even one capable of raising huge amounts of money but dependent on a million small donors and thus on TIME (word of mouth time) and building momentum.

That is unfair and undemocratic on its face. That is what the rules were supposed to prevent--unfair advantage. Further shenanigans--Clinton initially supporting the rules, and now wanting to change the rules, and signing the rules but then not withdrawing her name from these scofflaw primary states--adds to a picture of unfairness. Whoever was at fault for these states NOT following the rules--whether it was the state party, or Clinton supporters, or the Pukes--party leaders like Paterson should be doing more than just gently jawboning Clinton to stop trying to mess with the rules, and I hope he is doing more behind the scenes. As Governor of NY, Sen. Clinton's home state--and also having become governor only recently, in really strange circumstances (Bushite Dept. of Justice takedown of Gov. Spitzer, on prostitution charges, very likely with illegal spying), Paterson is perhaps reluctant to alienate Clinton with harsher language. I'm glad to see him say SOMETHING. I wish it was stronger. This kind of candidate behavior should not be permitted--that rules apply only when it is to your advantage. Haven't we had enough of that from the Bush Junta?
