listened to limbaugh for 2 hours
i was taking the wife to the airport in orlando
so i tuned in to see what chubby was up to

he spent the whole 2 hours taking calls from hillary supporters (mostly seniors) and "empathizing" with them over how mean we dems are
the convoluted reasoning of these oldsters makes me fear the calendar
everyone of them is all about mccain
and rush was lapping it up and rubbing his hands

when rush is seen as a legitimate venue for your message maybe its time to rethink the message

7. You must use Chlorox bleach to detox.
I know. I listened to Rush for 18 months in the 90s to try to figure out why people listened. It required intensive and sustained detoxification for two years to clean up. It's insidious.

8. Democratic Party cannot disenfranchise voters in Florida and Michigan without dire consequences.
Rush is an infantile adult catering to millions of utterly stupid Americans who in their innocence have allowed this nation to be ruined by Bush & Co. Nevertheless the Democratic Party cannot disenfranchise voters in Florida and Michigan without dire consequences. Regardless of what the leaders of the democratic Party in those states did, the rank and file cannot be punished like that. It is an outrage. Obama will not be considered legitimately selected without the voices of those two states.

Hillary can then legitimately say that including Florida and Michigan she has won the primaries, and is cheated out of her prize.

33. Actually i would leave it open, there is a chance of the animals coming back
Also the parable had nothing about other animals being left in the barn.

I have noticed in my years that it's not a good idea to compare people to animals. The reason being because mostly if you show enough patience with animals they eventually show greater commonsense

18. Kabuki, indeed, my friend.
Also, a reader sent this to Josh Marshall over at TPM today, and I happen to agree 100%.

Oxygen
TPM Reader JP shares his take ...

Perhaps my analysis is off, but isn't the new Clinton campaign focus on the FL and MI delegates really about maintaining public attention (i.e., preserving oxygen). With Obama wrapping up the majority of available pledged delegates, the remaining primaries just aren't that interesting from a media perspective and are likely to generate little coverage, especially with likely focus on issues such as Obama's strategy for winning the election, VP selection, and the Denver convention. The outcomes of the remaining primaries can't change the game (take the nomination away) UNLESS coupled with a decision to seat the FL and MI delegates. Lack of media attention won't help the debt situation and won't persuade super-delegates to change their votes. Hence, going "toxic" may be the only viable path if the choice is to stay in.

24. I agree as well. As a Michigan voter, however, I'm offended enormously.
She's EXPLOITING the total, utter, and complete FUBAR that disenfranchised the people in this state ... people suffering the greatest economic privation in the country under the Cheney/Bush regime. This state was once the Rock of Gibralter for the Democratic Party. Once upon a time, NO DEMOCRATIC PESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE would even think of missing Labor Day in front of the Union Workers in Detroit. From Stevenson to Kennedy and beyond, Michigan was an essential base for the working class support. It's no fucking wonder that the GOP gets support from those "Reagan Democrats" when the Democratic Party essentially tells them to go fuck themselves like this. This is the shit that the DLC stirs to gain corporatist control over the Dems.

31. You're a MI voter? What's the vibe there? I'm really curious.
It seems to me that it's so obvious she's using MI and FL. I would think the "count our votes" pro and nays would fall strictly along candidate lines.

34. Anger. Disgust. Pique. Big shift to Obama ... and the GOP.
Edited on Thu May-22-08 03:32 PM by TahitiNut
Speaking to neighbors, family, and friends, the disgust at how the PEOPLE of Michigan were used as PAWNS in a political insiders' power struggle is palpable. Even more disgusting is the flocking of the SCAVENGERS seeking narrow advantage from the complete and utter travesty ... again without ANY respect for the people of this state and the economic hardship we face.

If there are folks with any feelings at all that aren't seeing it that way, perhaps they're just humoring me by agreeing. But I doubt it.

The Democratic Party lost about 5% of the vote with that bullshit. Seating some insiders in Denver won't cut it.

Exacerbating the problems in Detroit are the scandals surrounding Kwame Kilpatrick. As long as he's the titular Mayor of Detroit, it's even more unlikely that candidates will campaign in the city (largely African-American) for fear of being seen with a political leper.

13. Except that even if delegates are seated as-is, she'll still be trailing.
I've actually been saying for months that they're going to seat the delegations from both states and taht it won't make a difference to the outcome.

20. Bullshit. rush is helping Hilarious because he knows she'll bring the Pubes out in droves
No other reason is logical. MI and FL broke the rules and their elections were not only outside the party rules but were not legitimate.

I'll say it again, those elections were not legitimate and I shouldn't have to explain why because I am going to assume you have a modicum of sense in that head of yours.

21. If Hillary wasn't protesting this at the time the rules were made
then she has no business protesting them now. Those states disenfanchised themselves by going against the primary calender when they knew full well what the consequences would be. Hillary exploiting this now just means that she is currently in the service of the Republicans, and should be treated as such.

14. How about the 3/5ths vote thing, saying the dems were the party of slavery
and we are returning to it now. Helping Hillary with that argument as much as he can.

It was by far the most over the top bullshit ever. And the so-called Hillary supporters he put on were just out of their goddamned minds. I can't help but think the whole thing was staged, which it probably was, but that begs the question:

WHY THE FUCK IS LIMPDICK GOING TO SUCH LENGTHS TO HELP HILLARY?

I agree that the Clinton's are a cash cow for him, but it is curious that any Dem would not see through this scheme for what it is and denounce it.

The repubes want Hillary as the Dem nominee and they are willing to do anything to make it happen. ANYTHING.
