Watching Dodd and Kerry get choked up puts this together for me.
I've always respected and admired Christopher Dodd.

He is a very dedicated, passionate public servant. And he's always been on the right side of the issues fighting for what's right.

And Senator Kerry has always been an idol of mine.

It was difficult to watch them get choked up over the Kennedy tumor news.

I respect Ted Kennedy a lot, and to see his friends and fellow Senators break down over this tragic news really put this into a new light for me. He's a living legend, and an icon. I couldn't be more proud of Senator Kerry or Senator Dodd for having the courage to talk about this difficult issue in such an emotional time.

My thoughts and prayers are with Senator Kennedy.

10. Same here.
I have an appointment with a family this PM and I'm a mess. I just want to take the rest of the day off and go home and cry.

But I'm glad I'm not at home and can't witness the emotion coming from guys like Kerry. I'd really lose it then.

7. This IS A Hard One... This Type Of Cancer, Even When Operated On, Almost
always grows back. I know he will have the BEST medical care there is, but I seriously doubt he'll ever return to the Senate. I commented about my neighbor's son who had the same type of cancer on another blog.

I fear it's time for many stiff upper lips! The Kennedy's have and will go down in HISTORY in a positive way, no matter how others may choose to make it otherwise!

32. How will this work for senate control?
If he cannot vote the Republicans will effectively have the majority. Also what are the chances of a Republican winning his seat if he dies as happend with Wellstone in MN?

has the tumor near a speech center?

Sad, sad, sad.

spoke out about it, and it wasn't about politics. Similarly, I won't think it's about politics when Hillary Clinton or when McCain (he already spoke to reporters on his campaign bus) speak about this.

You could tell that this news is really bothering him. Dodd and Kennedy have been the best of friends for decades.

Kerry look depressed. I don't blame him. This is a sad day for us all.

17. I had the opportunity to meet Christopher Dodd back in 1995...
He was the keynote speaker for the Cuyahoga County Democratic diner. It was my first event as the Treasurer and I was able to chat with him for a while. He gave a great speech and got the people all riled up. He was very gracious.

28. Can we make it a goal of ours that Ted Kennedy gets to see the rule of law restored in his lifetime?

All the more reason to start impeachment hearings NOW! So we can perhaps give him a sense that America is going to return back to its roots that he's helped fight so hard for during his lifetime. I think he'd like to know that America is in good hands again and has a decent chance at a good future before he leaves us...
