Back in 2003 a former Marine in my ED put up an IMPEACH BUSH / CHENEY sign
Back in 2003 a former Marine that lives in my election district (ED) put up a sign (it was 4'x4') that boldly stated IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY and had a count of the dead soldiers (first in double digits, then hundreds, now it is up in the thousands).

Each morning he would place an American flag and a POW flag on his Impeach sign. He would take them down each night.

He was super pissed at Cheney and Bush. He let everyone know it. Although he is a Republican, he proudly displayed his Kerry/Edwards sign straight through 2004.

This year his Impeach sign has been taken down. It has been replaced by a house "forsalebyowner.com" sign and a Ron Paul sign.

I've only spoken to this man a half dozen times (most of which were during my campaigning for Howard Dean in 2002/2003). He doesn't seem to be an outward racist (although I admit that I don't know him too well). He seems to be a patriot. And a diehard Paul supporter.

As for Ron Paul being some sort of KKK racist, I just don't see it in his local supporters. I think very highly of GOP Paul supporters and I think very lowly of Bush supporters. I am curious - do you feel the same way or would you prefer the company of Bush supporters over Paul supporters?

1. Even thought i dont agree with Ron Paul on social issues
he is 100% right on about military, civil liberties, and the federal government; he reminds me of Dennis Kucinch (aren't they good friends?).

But yea, i think the Ron Paul revolution would be the best thing to happen to the republican party; imagine if both parties where anti war, pro civil liberties.

4. Kucinich, unlike Paul, doesn't want to abolish the EPA
the DE or any number of other government departments. He also has never stated the Civil War and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were unnecessary. Paul's anti government views and racist connections are troubling and, outside of the war in Iraq, I find little in him that reminds me of Kucinich.

5. I also think the Civil War was unnecessary.
I would have been an abolitionist, but I would not have worked toward armed conflict to end slavery. I think we would have gotten the same results without the war.

3. He's gotten people to think as no other mainstream pols have
I wouldn't want him for president but I'm delighted he ran. The Ron Paul supporters I've met I though very well of.

8. Neither, thank you
GOP = enablers of the most destructive administration in over a century. I don't care how many meet-ups Ron Paul has....he's a virulently anti-woman, anti-consumer protection nutjob who slavishly worships Reagan and panders to racists. Fuck the lot of them.
