More dog whistles to the Clinton Campaign
today Obama has been referred all day as the PRESUMPTIVE nominee by the media

For reference see here

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5912353&mesg_id=5912353

Yes, the process is well on its way... and I do expect the Clinton campaign to become so damn defensive and chiefly aggressive, that any of you looking at this may want to take cover....

The last hurrah will be an artillery barrage to behold... for anybody who is a political junkie that is

Oh and today's loud whistle may also be a signal to the campaign that the media is about to go... sayonara

9. It isn't new imagery. It has been around for years
Dog whistles make sounds that only dogs can hear. Likewise, political dog whistles make noises that those attuned to politics can hear.
They are the subtle signs that alert to something coming.

That isn't calling Hillary names, any more than it implied any other candidate in any other election to be a dog.

10. I might add, it also stands for language that is directed at a small group
the RW use of code is a perfect example... the base hears them, loud and clear, while the rest of us may go... HMMM WHAT?

But you are right, this has been around for decades

2. Maybe they should stop being so subtle and just
throw a bookbag at her to get her attention.

You know, language she understands.

3. This is standard for any situation like this
If they have to reach for the book bag or any other MORE obvious means OUTSIDE the beltway... then we are really in trouble

I don't recall anytime in modern political history when that has been needed

5. Back in February someone posted the 'potential path' (or similarly worded)
It had to do with party leaders (Gore, Edwards, Pelosi, Reid, Carter, etc...) getting together, sitting her down and talking to her about this -- about not destroying the party.

Phase 2 was to have the conversation publically.

I believe we have moved squarely into Phase 2.

6. Actually we have not... we are squarely in phase one
most folks don't even know we are talking of them whistles that you and I are not supposed to hear

And I doubt that conversation, the ever so popular Nixon type conversation, I doubt has happened YET

Not that we will not cross into phase two... when we do it will be far more obvious than it is right now

And that is when they reach for the bags of cements and other means... that are so obvious nobody can miss them

Hell, they are so obvious that they'd make pariah status permanent.

Note for those who are TRULY new to this, at the end of the Nixon Administration a delegation of prominent Republicans when to the WH and had a long talk with the President. who resigned within twelve hours

One familiar name should be George Bush... then head of the RNC (yep Poppy)

7. I know you are right. I just *want* to be in Phase 2
If it gets any louder, it will be humiliating. Pariah indeed.
