Steffie was uncomfortable with it, reading body language. But if the camera weren't there, would he have chuckled? There's a tacit complicity --in that Kantor felt the climate was OK to even say such a thing in front of Steph and Carville. Sure we have all heard associates say something off the wall and turned away without challenging it.

It's the climate of acceptance of such a viewpoint, even in jest, that is a problem.

26. THE VIDEO IS FAKE !!

I've been a bit reluctant to post the day's much-emailed, 15-year old clip from 'The War Room' for a couple of reasons -- vintage, and differences from the original.

So this is kind of interesting: Mickey Kantor claims that the clip, in which subtitles have him claiming that the people of Indiana are ... excrement ... and then using a racial slur has been doctored.

He claims to have been deriding the polls, not the people, of Indiana -- I can't actually make out the word. And he denies using the n-word.

Take a look at the recently posted video; and compare with the video and audio around 4:45 from this fuller clip from the video. The offensive bit, which doesn't quite seem to match his lips, is also totally inaudible in the original. It seems to have been added in the new version.
