If we only had a winner take all system Hillary would be winning!
Edited on Mon Apr-07-08 11:58 AM by BL611
Wow this is obnoxious, every week there is a new rationale based on whatever the Clinton campaign can construe. Look THE RULES ARE WHAT THEY ARE. If the Clinton campaign spent 2007 planning a strategy to win the Democratic primary based on the Democratic primary rules instead of drafting 500 page memo's on why Hillary is inevitable, maybe they would have stood a better shot. Maybe if they spent 2008 trying to win votes instead of complaining about the rules they would have stood a better shot. The bottom line is the rules are what they are, the Obama campaign designed a strategy based on the rules, and thats why they've been successful. If Hillary is President is her administration going to spend their time bitching about how you need 60 votes for cloture or attempting to govern? I guess it looks like we'll never know...

Oh and if they love winner take all primaries so much, maybe they should join the party that has them....

1. I say, suspend the elections, Hillary is the declared winner because
She wants to be, and John McSame is too "experienced"....

Barack Obama is too black or too white, or too much of a churchgoer, or too much of a Muslim sympathizer, or something.

People don't count, Hillary should be President because Hillary supporters want her to be.

<sarcasm off>

3. If we only had SDs who would get off their butts
I wonder how many SD votes for Obama it would take for Hillary to realize it's over...

4. Fuck it. Let's just give her the damned nomination
Cancel the rest of the primaries. Instead, let's have a grand old coronation ceremony at the convention.

This is her Destiny. How dare we oppose her. These primaries were supposed to be a mere formality, with just token opposition from the usual gaggle of perennial candidates.

6. I'm sure that's what she's hoping, like a kid who keeps after
his parents until they give in. She must have been thinking of a coronation (she even mentioned the word in Oregon, albeit to say the race was not a coronation, but she must have had the word in mind).

7. IF
why does anyone use this to talk about the past? The rules were drawn up in the past so nothing will change.

9. in a nutshell: its flat out entitlement vs. public service
they came in acting as if they already owned the place, and pissed on voters as they went, declaring voters in state after state unimportant or irrelevant.

you only do that in hubris, not if you are concerned about your role as a public servant.

IMHO

11. And if Hillary were winning, then the rest of us would be the losers.
Hillary's 'McCain Lite' to McCain's 'bu$h's Third Term' does not thrill me at all.
