When do the Libertarians formally nominate their candidate?
I was watching on C-Span earlier, and I noticed nobody got a majority of votes, so they went to a second ballot. Unfortunately I couldn't watch. Does anyone know what's going on with those people? Just curious, even thoug the LP's policies make no sense.

3. it waqs a dirty fight..
I had it on in the background.

Michael Badnarick ended up winning. None of the above got around 15 out of around 600 votes (a few write-ins went to Howard Stern and Drew Cary I believe) Gary Nolan got 3rd place in one of the runoff elections and was dropped from the ballot...his people verbally fought the Aaron Russo fans in the crowd and they ended up "suspending the rules" to allow him a five minute speech...where he asked his delegates to throw their support behind Badnarick. The Russo people were not happy about it at all and Russo had some bad things to say about Nolan when he lost. He ended up congratulating the winner, and Badnarick said he would consider Nolan for VP. Say one thing ablut the LP..at least they allow diverse opinions!!

7. Brokered convention
It was hell of a lot of fun to watch. The LP even had a fringe candidate who was violently anti-choice. Needless to say he was *not* popular, but they still let him speak (he hectored the party over God's divine will, yadda yadda).

They're pretty pure when it comes to their pricniples, though truth be told it's easy to be pure when you're nowhere near power. Lenin was a pretty cool guy in 1916...
