Get out those goalposts again: Wolfson says Obama "will have failed" if he doesn't win PA
Clinton: Obama outspending us 4-1 in Pennsylvania

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Officials from Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign estimated Thursday that her rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, is outspending her by a 4-1 ratio in Pennsylvania, ahead of the April 22 primary there.
The Clinton campaign also said that Pennsylvania, where the New York senator has held onto a comfortable lead in most polls, is a proving ground for Obama, given his massive effort in the Keystone State.

"If they fail to win there, they will have failed," said Howard Wolfson, a spokesman for the Clinton campaign.

The assertion came on a conference call with reporters, as the Obama campaign announced it raised another $40 million in March, which believed to be well ahead of Clinton's figure.
The Clinton campaign said it will announce March fundraising numbers when the Federal Election Commission report is due, shortly before the Pennsylvania primary.

Clinton maintains a lead in Pennsylvania heading into the contest, according to most polls, but that lead is dwindling as it has in other states. Clinton was ahead by 15 points according to the Rasmussen survey as of March 5. Another Rasmussen poll taken March 31 showed that lead was down to 5 points...

15. Agree. I would feel a LOT more positive if she would show some management skills.
You have to wonder whether she spends any time at all reading the net, newspapers, or whatever. She seems not to appreciate that Penn and Wolfson are viewed almost as a joke. Easing out Patti Solis Doyle was a smart move, but it seems like Hillary actually believes Penn and Wolfson. I'm reminded of the person who produces her campaign commercials raging at Penn - 'Oh, it's always the execution, never the message'.

My girlfriend (who's the operations manager in a busy legal services company) thinks her big problem is that she's living in bubble, and letting other people filter and interpret all the information she receives.

You can tell a great deal about a person by whom they surround themselves with. This is not a good mark for her judgment by these people being with her.

Plain and simple.....He wants Hillary, if it's anything else, he doesn't consider it worth the same as his vote

What an arrogant ass.............time for him to go on unemployment, with food stamps, and no health care, so he knows what it's like to have no money, no power, and only a vote, which is becoming the norm for America voters.

OH, TX, CA, and now PA. Talk about buyer's remorse. She's losing even when she's winning. I think I saw a recent CA poll with Obama now enjoying a comfortable lead.

17. Did you see ole Fast Eddie today? said HRH won CA by 13%
it was only 9 (if that)..and about 3 million absentee ballots were out, and returned by the time the primary happened (before Iowa)..so many people did not even know who Obama was..

I am willing to bet that at least 1/2 of those people would have loved to get their HRH ballots back..to change them to Obama..

She snuck CA under the radar, and she was lucky to win it;;

31. That's the problem with HRCs Big State argument.
She lost early leads in every one of those big states. And, I'd be willing to wager she'd lose a lot of them today -- especially CA where we like front runners.

-- note: you freaked me out earlier with Eddie in your subject line. My name's Ed. Figured out you were talking about Rendell -- who's proving to be a real tool.

20. So if Obama gets more delegates will Clinton exit?
Otherwise Wolfson is an idiot in my view.

Obama has reduced massive double digit leads for Clinton to 5% to a point where Obama stands a chance now of walking away with more delegates.

So unless Clinton is ready to exit if she loses by delegate count in PA, then this is worthless.

26. We keep letting them "frame the debate"
We should have been telling the truth of their only being 8 more states, and Obama is projected to win 5. If we keep letting them pretend it's all up in the air, and stealing delegates is perfectly acceptable, we give them the opportunity to steamroll right over top of him in Denver.

fucking ludicrous. She was up by 30 less than a month ago and now most polls put us within 10. She needs a 20+ point win to get any kind significant gain. Wolfson is hitting the bong something FIERCE if he honestly thinks this."

53. For a candidate who can't win, Obama is one hell of a closer.
Obama's taken so many states where Clinton was heavily favored that it's plausible he will take PA. He was down by 20 in the previous set of polls, and now he's within striking distance. And this is supposed to be one of those states that Obama is "too black" to win.

I *love* the way the Clinton campaign keeps trying to have it both ways - she has had all that time in the White House and so on, but she's also the poor little outspent girl - she wants us to consider the experience, but ignore the 16 years of free publicity. If she's so hot, how come she's unable to afford the airtime?
