Massive Set of Endorsements from Oregon for Obama
from the dailykos: mamabigdog

Oregon legislators are all-Obama

Last Update: 2:47 pm

-snip -

Obama in Portland (Rich Shibley) PORTLAND – A group of Oregon politicians stood on the capitol steps in Salem Wednesday morning to endorse their candidate for president.

The group of legislators and elected officials gave their endorsement for the senator they want to see in the White House and it was an all-Obama crowd.

Five state senators and 19 state representatives, along with the state superintendent of schools and state treasurer pledged their votes to Barack Obama.

Independent senator Avel Gordly announced she would change her party affiliation and become a registered democrat after meeting Obama at a campaign rally.

“He said to me, I need the help of independent like yourself, and I told him then, he could count on my support. And, let me tell you why: Barack Obama is a unifier,” Gordly said.

She has no money and her negatives are still on the rise. The trend lines are solid and unwavering.

Uh-oh...what have I just done? I must be an annoying, condescending Rachel Maddow-loving elitist.

Sorry, just kidding...I'm actually referring to a post from earlier (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=3098829&mesg_id=3098829) that called Maddow all those things...probably because she leans toward Obama (as do I).

6. Oh dear, more Obama supporters
This must be a "cult" when people with credibility go for Obama.

That's just not right, they should all be blindly supporting Hillary, because she is "ENTITLED" to it, because she married a man who is a former President.

Yeah, that's logical, right?? NO!

It is great when experienced elected officials come out and let us know because it reinforces what we already know..he has what it takes to be president. But please lets stop stomping on HC and her supporters because she is also a great candidate and has fought hard. You guys/gals are adding salt to the wound and that is not necessary.

24. I was driving by a commercial strip in Beaverton (right next to Portland)
and I noticed a hand-letter "Obama for America" sign with an arrow pointing the direction. I walked into the office and it was already hopping. They hadn't officially opened, and already people like me were swamping them for bumper stickers, volunteer sign-up, etc.

The Northwest is solidly Obama country.

Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 06:07 PM by Zachstar
Today Obama has had so much going towards the future of this nomination that I think the voters will respond perhaps even with a win.

Today in my view dramatically reduced Clinton's chances of winning the nomination by swaying the supers to overturn the pledged. Her chances of winning all the way to the white house are now so low it is silly. And as long as Obama keeps steady progress for this month. Clinton will get far below minimum votes and delegates needed to stop reducing her chances even further.

Steady progress everyone!

Who really pays attention to Oregon anyway. They are just state legislators.

Former President Clinton endorses Senator Clinton. That's a MUCH bigger endosement. So do many Republicans who want to extend the Democratic primaries.

Down with Oregon, up with New York and California. You know, only Clinton will win those Democratic strongholds. Obama could never win in New York and California!

96. I was in the Bay Area in late March and
I was impressed with the show of strength for Obama. Just walking around San Francisco (my old hometown), I saw lots of people wearing Obama buttons...No sign of Hillary support...

76. Obama want us to unite
“He said to me, I need the help of independent like yourself, and I told him then, he could count on my support. And, let me tell you why: Barack Obama is a unifier,” Gordly said.>>

Obama want us to unite, if we would tell the truth, his brand of unity has divided the Democratic Party, so much that, McCain is now favored to win the Presidency! Four more years of Bush's policy, How sad!

89. I don't see that at all. He is more of a uniter than anyone since JFK and RK
Look at all the people he has coming to all of his rallies and how many small donors he has to his campaign. People feel like they can be part of the democratic process for the first time probably in their life time. In comparison to our current dictators he is a fantastic unifier!

97. Yeah, clinton's proven pathological lying has NOTHING to do with the divide.
Wake the fuck up already!

80. Obama in Oregon is phenomenal
We had a death in the family that brought our family together last weekend from all over Oregon. Sad as it was, we were all amazed to find that almost unanimously we had all come to the same conclusion on our own. Barack Obama must be our next president. When Obama came to town, he filled the venue with thousands not able to get in. Online tickets were gone in twenty minutes. A week later Bill Clinton comes to town and can't fill a room with 3,000 seats. His "audience" included 500 empty seats.

83. The Movement Is Real
The Country is standing with Obama. He is uniting people for the common cause of good and growth for America. He is the leader America has been waiting for.

Thank God for Barack Obama and thank God for the American People.
