Her visit to Bosnia was in March 1996. The final peace agreement was signed on December 14, 1995, although there had been a cease-fire since October 11, 1995. President Bill Clinton had flown into the same airbase two months earlier, in January 1996. The only U.S. combat death during the mission died from a landmine. That's not to say there was no risk of snipers, but to call it a war zone is a serious stretch of the truth. It was a
former war zone by the time Hillary arrived there. There had been no organized combat since October 1995, five months before her visit.
