Easter Dinner With the Parents
My parents, who live in PA and are solid Hillary supporters came to visit me, my husband, and my Aunt (my Mom's younger sister, who lives near us.) Aunt is also a Hillary supporter. Hubby and I are Obama supporters - mostly because Richardson, Dodd, and Edwards dropped out. Discussion was... lively. They knew all about Rev. Wright and his "anti-American" stuff, Farrakhan's endorsement, as well as wondering why Obama didn't wear a flag pin. I shot back that it wasn't necessary to wear a flag pin made in China to show one's patriotism. All three said that, if Hillary didn't win, they'd seriously consider voting for McInsane in the GE because Obama wasn't patriotic enough.

Of course, what they hadn't heard was McInsane's endorsement by Hagee and Parsley, who these nutjobs were, and some of the gems that had come out of THEIR mouths! Dad was obviously disturbed by Hagee calling the Catholic Church the "Great Whore".

Now, my Dad fought in Korea. Both my Mom and Aunt were born during WWII, so they aren't Baby Boomers. The main reasons that they're for HRC is because 1) they think that Obama is a radical Black race-baiter like Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and 2) they want to see a woman President.

What's my point? My point is that we are in danger of LOSING solid Democratic supporters because of this nonsense! We need to stop fighting with each other, and start focusing on McInsane!

1. For them to even consider McCain...
they are obviously satisfied with the direction the country is taking.

2. They're not
Granted, they're doing better than most seniors, and my Aunt is still working at age 65, but she pulls in a pretty penny on her own. But all of the nasty little insinuations about Obama are making their way into the "I'll cut off my hand before I vote for a Republican" people. Can we really afford to lose anyone, regardless of who is the nominee?

3. Congratulations, Hillary.

...they think that Obama is a radical Black race-baiter like Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton...

You must be very proud of yourself.

6. That doesn't really surprise me
almost all the members of my family would rather vote for McCain than Obama. If Obama wins I probably just wont vote, I could never vote for a republican like them...damn what a scary thought.

7. ?
Are they getting their info from Fox? Otherwise, I can't imagine how they could possibly be thining this way. Did you ask them to listen to Obama's "race speech?" Anyone who could still believe such nonsense after that is hopeless.
