Were you disenfranchised? Was your vote thrown away, your voice not heard, and will you now not vote in the general election?

If the Democratic candidate is selected before the last scheduled primaries are run ... will those voters be disenfranchised? Should they just stay home pissed in the General Election and not vote?

I'm so sick of hearing the Florida and Michigan WHINE! It's only been in the last 40 years or so that the people have even been involved in selecting the candidate. Now we have the opportunity to be involved in either a primary, caucus, or combo of the two. So why is there even a mention in the MSM of the popular vote total?? Leave it HRC to misinform voters and lead them to believe that they are disenfranchised.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! I hate it when we as a people are proven so dumb and uneducated! And I hate it when a DEM candidate distorts and misinforms the people ... when the end justifies the means we all need to wake up and reject that candidate if we are ever to make the change we profess to want.

1. No, they were on the ballot as well and I voted for someone else
Unlike some others here, I intend to support whomever the party choose and hope the rancor that I see here is not wide spread since it would mean a McCain victory

2. To add to your observations, the primaries
in most of the states in prior years never counted either because the leading candidate was already chosen. I live in Wisconsin and in the last election, Kerry was already presumed nominee. I had no recourse except to vote for Edwards to hope to help him be Kerry's running mate.
So, this is not the first year that the primary votes in FL and MI haven't counted for anything. Like...what's new?

3. Great question!!
And I wonder where all those "informed" democrats in those states were when the decision to move their primaries up was made.
Did they think they could strong-arm the party into bowing to their will? Or were they just uncaring and unconcerned about the primary?
Where were they THEN????
And, if they spoke out, why didn't their party reps listen to them?
And all these folks from Arizona or wherever who keep saying Obama has cheated Florida or Michigan people out of their votes are just LIARS trying to cause trouble, further divide the party if their candidate doesn't get the nom. Disgusting.

4. What makes the angriest is that the MSM
who could be bringing this up and educating people actually feeds this misinformation and gives it credibility. The pundits and the anchors need to be fired and replaced with responsible journalists.

6. Apparently education
of the electorate isn't even on hte MSM's list of priorities. And I'm angry about that, too. :)

5. I haven't voted yet.

It really doesn't matter, though, because I won't be voting for anyone left on my ballot. There's no point, as I oppose them both equally.

To add on to your logic: why bother with a primary at all? If the democratic process, and the integrity of the democratic process doesn't matter, why should we pretend that it does?

Let the corporations, msm, and mainstream party power-brokers choose. We'll all get in line and vote like obedient little zombies.

Or we could design a primary process that guarantees equal weight to every vote cast, and perhaps the label "Democratic" party might not be quite so Orwellian.

Meanwhile, let's not pretend that the results of this primary season are at all democratic.
