Chris Matthews just said that Obama & Hillary need to convince voters that they love America
if they want to win in November, and that this would help them on their way to a GE victory, especially if the economy goes south.

He just said it on the opening of Mika's 9 AM show while discussing the Pastor Wright issue. He was trying to make believe that he was helping them by giving them such sage advice.

Can you believe this asshole?

This is what we're up against folks. We've got people in the media who very cleverly paint nasty pictures of our candidates just by speculating on what they need to do to put a lock on the election in November. Matthews made like this is a nagging problem Democrats always have.

Well, it looks like Matthews just gave away the Repuke's game plan. It looks like the Republicans are going to paint the Democratic nominee as someone whose love for America is questionable. What else is new.

Heck, we all know how much John McCain loves America. But Obama and Hillary? I guess they still have to prove they love their country before they can win the General Election.

1. No doubt he probably said it while interrupting one of his guests
The guy has a mouth that runs like diarrhea.

3. Well, aside from devoting most of their lives to its service and running for the damn presidency,
I wonder what he suggests. Kiss America on the lips? Marry it? Silly.

4. I love how he tried to drag Hillary into the Wright problem
he is literally physically unable to criticize Barack. And when events force him to, he makes up a way to drag Hillary into it.

6. Yes, he was mostly saying that Obama had to do this, but he did include Hillary to make his point
that BOTH our candidates needed to do this.

It was almost as if he did it as an after thought, but after saying how Obama should prove how much he loves America he quickly changed it to both of them, Obama AND Hillary.

7. LOL. So true. Hillary is dilegently working with the voters on issues
Obama is embroiled in yet another question of his judgment, and good ol' boy Chris manages to drag Hillary's name into the fray.

5. Actually, he said that Obama needs to convince people he loves America and that he's not angry or a
separatist. He later threw in Hillary, saying that all Democrats have to prove they love America. But he really said that Obama has to prove himself.

Amazing.

8. Yes, thank you for the extra clarification, Effie.
I just posted above to Poster #4 that it was almost as an after-thought that Matthews said Hillary has to also prove this, too.

I find it preposterous that Matthews could even speculate on whether or not Obama and Hillary have to prove to the voters that they love America.

11. I imagine this is the way major corporations choose their leaders.
"Thank you for agreeing to appear before the board on such short notice, Mr. Brown. We know that your resume is excellent and that your plan to lead Amalgamated Tetrahedron out of our recent challenges is both practical and visionary. But you see...Mr. Johnson here loves Amalgamated Tetrahedron. A lot. He wears a little AT pin everywhere he goes. He has a toaster that sears the AT logo on every slice of toast he eats. He can't orgasm unless his wife tells him 'AGTH finished up 2 points today.'

"Mr. Brown, you simply can't be considered unless you prove that you love Amalgamated Tetrahedron."

14. Matthews needs to let America know...
...when the last time he even spotted the shoreline of reality...or even got a post card from someone there. He lives in the DC Bubble of Unreality.
