Thanks, SNL
First you kill Gore.

Then you kill Kerry.

Now you pump up the most divisive candidate we could possibly nominate.

Please. Stay out of politics from now on.

You're not helping.

I don't think SNL played a role in this.

30. That's not true...
... and you do a disservice when you underestimate the kind of damage portions of the MSM, such as SNL, can do the political climate. However, you're right that they certainly didn't impact as many people as the NAFTA non-scandal "scandals" did; it's a shame that I heard similar sentiments from people on other blogs about how Ohio don't watch cable news channels, nor that they "know how to find Canada on a map" (as if that has anything to do with being affected by "dirt" against a given political candidate). It would be more accurate to say they (SNL) reached something more in the neighborhood of ten thousand people.

31. Maybe I'm sounding a bit ridiculous. But guess what?
At the same time Hillary was authorizing Dubya to go to war with Iraq--I was standing on corners with signs telling the world I KNEW--NOT THOUGHT--BUT KNEW THAT HE WAS LYING!

I was an ordinary citizen, with no special access and I could see through Dubya's bullshit. WHY COULDN'T HILLARY? She's obviously not very bright (which I don't believe for one minute) or a huge corporate/war profiteer supporter (which I DO BELIEVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY!) I do not support her candidacy for President because she's lying about her reason for her vote to authorize the war in Iraq. If she lies about this...she'll lie about other things too.

End of story.

You know it, too. You're afraid to admit that your girl made a huge blunder and now she's too proud to admit her mistake! Doesn't bode well for her.

Big people admit when they're wrong and move on. Hillary can't seem to do this. WHY?

50. She has said on numerous occasions
that she would not vote the same knowing what we know now. Hillary Clinton didn't mewl and grovel at the feet of the netroots and progressives, saying "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" the way that Edwards and Kerry did.

That is the craw that sticks in your throat, but guess what? No one else cares.

22. you should thank Goolsbee
Obama should have

a) found out the story before mouthing off to the press that nothing happened and
b) fired his ass for running off at the mouth with a foreign government without his permission.

That is who you should thank. The late voters broke for Clinton over credibility.

Although the exposure of the media bias by SNL didn't help matters for Obama :)

35. i never said nobody watches it...i watch it all the time, I'm a huge fan
but it's also been a show that gets HUGE play in the news media when they parody our candidates.

I'm not saying they decide the election, but they don't do anything that helps our candidates - and in certain instances, influences how the campaigns and candidates are covered.

Since SNL came back on the air the media coverage of Clinton changed dramatically. She became THE story, and not Obama, who should have been the story, considering he was on an 11-win streak.

The Sunday right before the New Hampshire primary Russert had McCain on (for a free TV hour). Face the Nation had McCain on the same day. The Sunday right before the Florida primary Russert had McCain on again! They knew McCain had to win those primaries to stay in it.
