Anyone else having difficulty summoning the strength
Edited on Wed Mar-31-04 01:35 AM by WilliamPitt
to wade into yet another Kerry/anti-Kerry debate?

I am.

Vote for him. Don't vote for him. Rub mashed potatoes on your chest and dance the Funky Chicken. Whatever.

Who gives a crap? Bush must go.

2. This election....
for president is no longer about politics. Politics went out the door after the lies about WMD and the outing of Joseph Wilson's wife,a CIA Agent. This is not 1992, 1996 or 2000. Those elections were about politics and policies. This election is about removing criminals and thugs out of the white house....the people must impeach Bush if Congress will not. I am not a fan of Kerry and dont particularly like his style and most of his policies. But that does not matter anymore. There is a cancer in the WH and it must be removed in November!

I used to "come" to DU and it was a place where everyone stuck together- and all Democrats!! That meant a lot to me, living in a small, conservative GA town....

3 years later- and everyone is attacking the DEM nominee- if only we could see then...

Sick & tired of it too....

7. Yes, dennis4868
you are right. They are criminals, thugs, and the most destructive force to have ever been in office. Sometimes I still can't believe it. Fortunately, I'm fine with Kerry. I guess I'd be having a hard time if it was Lieberman in there but I WOULD VOTE FOR HIM WITHOUT QUESTION BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH I DON'T AGREE WITH MANY OF HIS BELIEFS, HE IS NOT A CRIMINAL, HE IS NOT A THUG, AND HE IS NOT EVIL. That's why I'm not the least bit ashamed to resort to the mantra: ABB!!!!!!!!!!

There are only so many times you can respond reasonably to arguments that are essentially "He's not Howard Dean, circa September 2003, waaaah" or "Kerry is not catering to my ego needs, and I mean Needs" or "As an unemployed Presidential campaign expert I demand of Kerry to do the following thing I just thought of- and pronto".

I've little or no interest in Kerry/anti-Kerry debates though. All my debating is internal; am I too cynical for the real world, or do I just see things clearly?

I'll vote for whoever the Dem nominee is, even though I don't expcet that person to be perfect, or, in fact to be able to accomplish much that would benefit the majority of americans; no matter how sincere they might be in their intent to do so.

13. This is good news
The Repugs hashed out their internal problems in the 70s and have emerged as a unified party. IMHO, we are doing that now. I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as we remember to still fight like hell to get rid of Bush.

We have some questions to resolve amongst ourselves:

1. Are we going to be a liberal party?
2. Are we going to focus on social issues that the Repubs use for ammo against us? (God, guns and gays)
3. Are we going to allow the Repubs to define what we believe in as immoral? Or are we going to admit its immoral (either directly or by not sticking up for it) and try to be more like them - just with a liberal slant?

Can anyone else think of issues we need to resolve?

These questions are legitimate questions about human responses to ambiguity. Damn it, Will, If you don't like the content of a thread, STAY OUT. If you are unable to do so, then at least make an attempt to honor the intellectual spirit of the hypothesis instead of attacking the creator of the topic.

Yes, bush must go, but there are plenty of Democrats who ARE INDEED disenchanted with the recent actions of the presumptive Democratic nominee. These questions are valid, whether you believe so, or not.

So, in short, DON"T WADE IN.

Not singling out, just reminding everyone of the handy little "zzz's" in the corner. They didn't say no, but did discourage it.

Still, it grows and grows.

Perhaps eventually they will be arguing only with themselves, get terribly bored, and move on.

To that end I will do whatever it takes to see to it that Kerry is elected. I will send what little money I have to Kerry's campaign and I will work my hardest to get people to vote for him.

This country and this world can't take four more years of wanker boy.
