What a treat getting to see Bob Shrum talk about the primaries on MTP!
For those of you who don't know, he's held many speech-writing, high-level consulting and strategy positions in lots of presidential campaigns. Here's a summary of his political expertise and acumen:

-George McGovern (general election loss)
-1980 Ted Kennedy (primary loss)
-1988 Dick Gephardt (primary loss)
-1988 Michael Dukakis (general election loss)
-1992 Bob Kerrey (primary loss)
-2000 Al Gore (general election loss)
-2004 John Kerry (general election loss)

Yeah, that Shrum is really the go-to guy for political analysis, huh?

1. Where these morans come from is beyond me.
I'm quite encouraged to see that McCain has Charlie Black for a campaign advisor. He's the Republican Bob Shrum.

2. Shrum cost Kerry the Election in 2004
A case can be made, yes.

4. Kerry won. The RNC stole it for Bush and McAuliffe's DNC let them do it. Carville helped alot, too,

11. As if..... odd that a historian of Brinkley'd calibre didn't get traction with corpmedia
over his observations -

And Woodward's revelations didn't get any attention whatsoever from any mainstream news outlet, did it?

3. That whole panel sucked ass.
I sent an e-mail to MSNBC regarding pundits with little to no credibility.

7. I don't mind the other three.
Each had something interesting and new to say, and that's what I'm looking for, whether I agree with what I'm hearing or not. I know I'll get blasted for that and called a "Freeper" or something, but someone else will have to care about that because I won't. Anyway, Shrum is just a dolt and proven loser many, many times over.

5. Used to be
when he came on the TV, it took all I had not to stick forks in my eyes.

But thanks to Ickes, Penn, and Wolfson, he now looks like some kind of wizened political genius.

8. Ickes, Penn, Wolfson and Carville were working AGAINST Shrum's candidates in 2000 and 2004.

12. But now we also know how 2000 and 2004 were being undermined from within. Rove wasn't
working alone - he had some key Dems in powerful positions who also didn't want Gore or Kerry to get their votes counted.

13. These people sucked then
and they suck now.

I know Shrum was up against a lot, but with his track record, you still could point to him as a pretty big loser. But these guys blew leads Shrum could have only dreamt of, and wasted a lot of time, energy, and money in the process. If their goal in life is getting HRC elected, they should have had a plan.
