1. Actualy this is all a sad commentary on the US in general.

What one wears should not be a factor in anything.
The fact that one could lose an election for riding in a tank means that one's policies don't amount to anything.
Policies should be the most critical thing in deciding on a candidate.

Truman made a living selling hats, but Kennedy, the next Democratic president, never wore hats and refused to be seen or photographed in one.

I'm sorry to digress there...back to your point. I agree. They need to stay the heck away from any form of headgear. Leave the costume props up to the Republicans.
